F*ck YES!
BOTH ATHLETIC AF OUT THERE! -
Somebody get these hitters a goddamn map.
-
So, much production. I like how we at least have a firm grasp of the fundamentals in its absence. Like moving runners over.
-
Goddamn Cozart, we need better swings than that.
-
-
Thank God Mark Trumbo can't run bases worth a goddamn shit.
-
Well, Trumbo still hits the ball hard. Good for him.
-
Nice job fouling off that pitch up and in from Ohtani.
-
ALBERT FOLLOW UP!

heaney good job, wasn't your fault
Except hanging one and allowing him to hit a pretty decent one hopper off the wall? Upton misplayed it, but it was a well hit double.
-
One of Ohtani's three home runs tonight will erase that run.
I'm not worried.

-
When's Ohtani supposed to start again by the way? Are they moving his starts back to Sundays?

Orioles have shown that they are perfectly willing to walk Trout to get to the Upton-Pujols combo. We need to show here and now that that will come back to bite pitchers by moving Ohtani to 4th and Pujols to 9th in the batting order.

Except it doesn’t because bullpen arms are the least predictable part of any team.
Except, I was being facetious.

It wasn't that long ago that a bunch of posters criticized Sosh for sticking with the one closer idea. They argued that was old school and the new approach was to use your best pitchers in pressure situations.
Makes me think it isn't the idea as much as it is the person with the idea.
You know, going out and signing a bunch of kick ass relievers would solve all our problems.
Nah, what am I saying, that's lunacy.

You don't see it in their body language (they are pros, they have enough intestinal fortitude to do that) you can see it in the way they pitch. Selection and location. The most successful closers aren't worried about the batter. They have the confidence to attack the zone with their best pitches and challenge the hitter to beat them.
I could see that possibly, but we also have no idea how they're trying to attack hitters and how scouting reports effect sequences. The team has an individual plan of how they want to attack each batter.
What I will say, is that the guys we have aren't above average. This much is visible. No scouting report or confident attacking approach calls for meat balls right down the middle.
I'm going to chalk this one up to we need better goddamn relievers

Ya, he's had s great season these past 14 innings.

As opposed to the guys who are blowing it 100% of the time? I'll take my chances. Closing out a game is more about mental makeup than actual stuff. As an experienced veteran closer he's not likely to fold under the pressure the way these guys are. Bedrosian and Parker look like they are throwing scared in the 9th. While they may actually have better stuff than JJ, their not mentally capable of closing the game out.
All the best closers in the game have the best stuff. That's why they're hard to hit, in my opinion.
And I'm just not seeing these pitchers we send out sobbing and the mound while craddled on the fetal position. But I've been switching channels back and forth for a bit of the losing streak, so maybe I missed it.

Great first swing.
I'm feeling optimistic about this.
EDIT: Great second swing, I feel even better.
EDIT 2: Okay, I'll take that.
