He may own the team but it’s not “his” team. The team belongs to the fans. We are the heart and soul of the franchise. And we will not support this version of the team until there is new ownership. 

The most important thing Arte could do outside of delivering a title is securing a long term stadium deal that stabilizes this franchise. He has been floundering on this for a decade+ now. All he does publicly is complain on the lack of corporate welfare from local governments to build or develop anything. It’s pathetic. 

What do you expect Tim Salmon to say? He’s on Arte’s payroll. 

This is obvious. The Mets sold in 2020 for $2.4 billion I think.
Since then the Suns majority owner purchased his stake at a valuation of $4 billion. Chelsea Football Club sold for $4.5 billion. The Broncos sold for $4.65 billion.
It seems likely Arte wasn’t getting offers for more than $2.5 billion. He wanted $3.5 billion.

Really something that the NBA teams are now valued at considerably higher levels than MLB teams.
I suspect MLB is extremely worried about future franchise valuation appreciation. You don’t take radical steps like the universal DH, banning the shift, and pitch clocks without considerable fear. And I support the universal DH and pitch clock.

Regardless, this team desperately needs new ownership that is competent. The shocking number of unfathomably bad decisions since the Napoli trade is truly impressive.
Arte is basically the more emotional and incompetent version of Jerry Jones. Sad truth.

Those teams STILL won though and he has been TERRIBLE since 2009. Bad FA signing after bad FA signing. We don't have to go down that road again. He clearly lost whatever magic he had 2004-2009. 2010 on, he's just flat out been an owner that doesn't hire the right people and doesn't know how to get to the playoffs or win a WS. I can't believe people can't see the facts right in front of them.

I don’t think anyone should be defending Arte. He’s done countless bad things that significantly outweigh any good things he’s done.

Baseball team’s valuations have little to due with current player talent in the organization. That’s not how this works. Like at all.
it’s all about the size of the market, ability to monetize fans at the 81 home games, and local TV broadcast revenues.

Having a vastly negative run differential is a reason to doubt. Not being a true seller when your team has been terrible against over .500 teams is reason to doubt. Building the terrible bullpen he built is reason to doubt.

Trading Cobb and/or Iglesias, who are free agents at the end of this season is not going all out. It's selling the pieces that will likely be gone anyways. They could have traded for really good pitching prospects instead of "roll-the-dice" type prospects that they got in the trades they made.  That would be focusing on pitching. 
It isn't being healthy that's the issue. Every team deals with pitching injuries every year. It's about building your farm so you have cost controlled pitching depth. Part of that is done through the draft and good teams also increase that depth by trading rentals like Cobb and Iglesias when they have a long shot of making they playoffs like the Angels this season. 
 

i'm at the point where i just plain and simple dislike arte as an owner. he keeps a business buddy as the head of the franchise, but not a baseball man. he spends the money, but he spends it foolishly and he doesn't invest in the system or it's infrastructure.
mix in his personal "attributes" and i'm pretty much over supporting anything moreno.

The Pujols contract was a waste. It didn't lead the Angels to a single World Series. And he had a lot of horrible seasons at the plate with the team. His only really good year with the club was his debut season in 2012. A lot of Angels fans should be happy that he's gone. Just another horrible contract like the one that they handed to Hamilton and Wilson. Pujols defenders will point out his high RBI totals. Well, he had guys who could get on base at the top of the order like Trout and Escobar (2016). 

Pujols said he still has "gas in the tank". Yeah, like a car heading to the junk yard does.
