  1. The Angels haven't said anything, but I doubt that they'll stretch him out. We probably won't know until spring training.
  2. @Alden_Gonzalez: A look at what today's #Angels roster moves mean ... http://t.co/va9wRJ9LVr
  3. @Alden_Gonzalez: Notable #Angels prospects left unprotected for Rule 5 Draft: Kaleb Cowart, Matt Long, Austin Wood, Daniel Hurtado, Erick Salcedo. It's very unlikely that Cowart will be taken.
  4. I think you meant to ask if the Royals get a first round draft pick. They don't get a first round pick from the A's, but they might some type of comp pick. His contract isn't that bad. He's only 28 and it's only a three year deal. His numbers were solid up until this past season.
  5. I didn't realize he said that. I'm in now.
  6. Sosh has a second home in Newport Beach, but the majority of the time, he still makes the drive to Simi Valley. In an interview, Sosh said he likes the long drive, it gives him time to think about the game/team.
  7. He's going to opt out after next season to take his dream job with the Dodgers! Lol
  8. I missed it. I thought it was something that happened tonight. Dave Stewart of the Diamondbacks sees Jeremy Hellickson as “a number two or number three starter,” Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic writes. The prospects the Diamondbacks sent to the Rays, Justin Williams and Andrew Velazquez, both have potential. (Williams hit .351/.403/.437 in 320 plate appearances in rookie ball and at Class A South Bend this season, impressive numbers for an 18-year-old at any level.) But for Stewart, Hellickson’s talent was more important, and he can help the Diamondbacks now. “They could both be All-Stars, but from our standpoint they’re three or four years away from being major league players,” says Stewart. “We have an opportunity to get a good starter to put in our rotation now and go along with our plans for our team with the 2015 season.”
  9. where did you read or hear that? It's not on MLBTR.
  10. Some people are at their peak or decline when they're 18 or even younger.
  11. Jeff Fletcher speculated that if the Angels did that, Kendrick might not reject the qualifying offer and the Angels wouldn't want to pay him 15 million (even if its just for one year). Fletcher thinks because of that, the Angels wouldn't make him a qualifying offer.
  12. Scott Miller tweeted a bunch of Boras' comments about this.
  13. I should've known that. Third out of the AL 2B is still great.
  14. By Steve Adams [November 14, 2014 at 2:42pm CST] 2:42pm: The Marlins and Stanton are close to agreeing to terms on a 13-year, $325MM contract that is expected to contain a no-trade clause and an opt-out clause, tweets Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
  15. Did Kendrick get more MVP votes than any other AL 2B? That should increase his trade value even more!
  16. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/11/yoan-moncada-expected-to-receive-record-bonus-for-amateur-player.html#disqus_thread Yoan Moncada Expected To Receive Record Bonus For Amateur Player By Steve Adams [November 12, 2014 at 9:39pm CST] Cuban infielder Yoan Moncada is quickly becoming one of the most hyped amateurs in history, and it’s expected that he will absolutely shatter the record for an amateur player — international or domestic — according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports. Passan spoke to a pair of GMs and two other executives, and all four agreed that they expect the 19-year-old Moncada to land an incredible $30-40MM bonus. While that bonus doesn’t necessarily seem steep right off the bat, at least when juxtaposed with the commitments made to countrymen Yoenis Cespedes ($36MM), Yasiel Puig($42MM), Jose Abreu ($68MM) and Rusney Castillo ($72.5MM), bear in mind that each of those players was viewed as a professional under baseball’s collective bargaining agreement and therefore was not subject to international spending limitations. Moncada, on the other hand, will be subject to spending limits, but executives that spoke with Passan still seemed to believe the price tag could approach $40MM. That would obliterate any team’s bonus pool, and a signing team would have to pay a 100 percent luxury tax on all overages (in addition to subsequently being prohibited from spending more than $300K on a player in the next two signing periods). In that regard, then, a team would essentially be dropping $60-80MM to add Moncada to its farm system, based on the range Passan received in his poll of execs.
  17. I hope the Angels dont sign any of the so called "big three". Lester will most likely sign with the Red Sox or Cubs.
  18. @Ken_Rosenthal: #Mariners made offer to VMart, looking at all hitters, including Cruz. Jack Z was scouting director for MIL when Cruz was with #Brewers.
  19. @jonmorosi: Tigers and Victor Martinez in agreement on four-year, $68 million contract, sources confirm @JonHeymanCBS report. I'm glad the M's didn't sign him.
