InsideThePark reacted to Tank in Trumped
Can we agree that there are multiple things involved in this issue and that this was not an isolated or unique event? There's not one single problem alone to solve here.

It's funny how gun buffs suddenly become passionate about advocating for mental illness following a mass shooting.

I'm wondering how a person's inability to handle their own finances correlates with being a danger to society if said person was not banned from purchasing a gun.
Heck, that would eliminate 85% of the NBA and 98% of the white trash population (i rounded down)

Agreed, in this instance, that wasn't in question.
I personally would like to see a ban on assault weapons, but if not that then at the very least, I think the minimum age for purchase should be 21, as it is with handguns.

In Florida:
Under federal law, you also must be 21 to buy a handgun from a firearms dealer. But 18-year-olds can buy semiautomatic rifles.
makes sense.
Rick Scott might want to take a look at that before calling for someone else's resignation.

Pretty much.
Once again, government corruption will prevent any kind of regulation that most Americans agree on.
-

Yep. Needless to say, that is corruption at the highest level of government - no conspiracy theories on this one.

congress, by their complete lack of balls to do something different or cripple the stranglehold the NRA has over this issue.

Another day, another right-wing conspiracy theory pumped into the mainstream.
http://thehill.com/policy/cybersecurity/372819-fbi-texts-referred-to-briefing-obama-on-russian-interference-not-clinton
Text messages exchanged between two FBI employees stating that then-President Obama wanted “to know everything” referred to the bureau's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, not a probe into Hillary Clinton’s email server, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) released a report Tuesday that included the exchange between FBI agent Peter Strzok and FBI attorney Lisa Page, arguing that the texts raised questions about Obama's involvement in the investigation into Clinton's email use.

By the time the opposition has poked holes through the whatever bullshit comes out from the right, the news cycle has already moved on. It'll happen with the memo. They are masterfully manipulating their base (and the opposition). It's downright terrifying.

The idea that the FBI acted favorably towards Hillary is yet another false narrative that's laughable on its face.
And speaking of false narratives...
"Highly likely," yet there was no evidence of this in the Nunes memo. You can bet it would have been in there if there was even a shred of evidence. The right-wing media is doing a superb job of misleading their viewers on this whole matter. Even casual viewers like yourself are being deceived.
Meanwhile, another false narrative goes down in flames.

GEORGE PAPADOPOULOS, NOT STEELE DOSSIER, TRIGGERED INVESTIGATION INTO TRUMP CAMPAIGN: NUNES MEMO

It appears that they might not have thought through the Nunes clusterfuck all the way through...along with forcing Republicans on the intelligence community spend the weekend telling the media the memo doesn't impact the investigation...now it looks like the house committee is going to vote to release the Democratic analysis...which will then require it be sent to Trump who has 5 days decide whether to approve it's release.
That'll be an interesting catch 22...either sign off to release a memo highlighting the investigation is legit or refuse to release it and look like you are continuing to try and obstruct.

Yeah, there's a lot of misinformation out there. This memo only raises concerns (legit ones) about FISA court abuses by the FBI/DOJ. Obviously that is a really bad thing but it has zero to do with the Mueller investigation.

Yea per the memo, the FBI had been investigating Trump and his team since before the primaries and not a word, not a announcement, not a leak, not a press conferee. Compare that with the Hillary stuff
