Bellinger, Yamamoto, Hader, Turner. Trade Anderson/Sandoval for whatever depth pieces we need.
Angels reloaded.
-
So White and Thomas go to Salt Lake as depth pieces. At one point, White was a first round pick, and he's had some injury problems the last 4 seasons.
So, it's possible we either acquired a cheaper version of Rendon, or the next Moniak.
-
Did Atlanta throw in any $$$ to offset White's deal? In any case, the Angels saved somewhere between 4.5 and 7 mil, which they can use to try to sign a player that can provide more help than Fletcher and Stassi.

Why couldn't he be the next Mike Trout or Jim Edmonds?
Because he's an average fielder, like Baylor was.
-
Poetic justice would be Ohtani leaving, and the Jays finishing fourth, behind the Yankees, Rays and Orioles.
The Angels finish with a better record than the Jays, because Trout and Rendon have great years around our young core.
Jo Adell becomes the next Don Baylor.

Chuck, what do you hear? Are your birdies telling you anything?

With BP additions I think Bachman is in minors if they are going to try and make him a starter. Joyce also may start year in minors.
I think it depends on their health. If both are healthy, IMO, they start the season with the Angels.

Vlad is 1B of course that is one step ahead of DH.
I am aware of this. My point is that Vlad Jr. is a great hitter, but a defensive liability anywhere in the field, 1B included.
-
I don't think Ohtani goes to Toronto because of Vlad Jr. Lil Vlad is a DH waiting to happen. And they still have to pay him, along with Bichette.
I think he comes back to the Angels

Do we really need to draft another SS? At 8, we can't get a near ready starting pitcher with upside?

A talented player with no compensation issues attached. Yes.
-
I believe Ohtani will stay on the West Coast. So, Angels, Dodgers, Giants. I believe he'll stay.

I heard it would take Sandoval, Caden Dana, Nelson Rada
You read it would take Sandoval, Caden Dana, and Nelson Rada from Halos Hangout. Give credit to the source, please.

Guardians listening on Emmanuel Clase, per MLBTR. 44 saves, but 12 blown saves, to go with 9 losses. He'd be an interesting add, but I don't think we have the pieces to match up.

There was an interesting interview with giolito and even in his short time with the team said ohtani is entirely about winning. He wants to be a legend.
Ohtani is already a legend.

I agree with mmc... but they will trade a few players too. If they get Snell and a lower end guy, but traded Anderson and Rengifo for an OF like JohnnyDeLuca and a Reliever (like I mentioned in this thread earlier), they could then trade Thaiss, Adams, and Kochanawicz say for Brenden Rodgers. Then sign say Hicks (7-8M) and call it an offseason.
Added: Ohtani (45.5), Snell (26), Rodgers (4.2), DeLuca (minimum), Hicks (8M), JP Feyereisen (minimum) and Kolarek?
Subtracted: Thaiss, Adams, Kochanawicz, Anderson, and Rengifo.
I like DeLuca as well, but I don't think the Dodgers will trade him to us.
-
If we can sign Snell, then it is possible that we could use one of Canning or Sandoval in a Burnes trade, IMO.
I wouldn't be against getting Yelich if one of Ward, Moniak, or Adell is moved.

We love those ex dodgers. How in the world did this guy get a guaranteed MLB deal?
Because he’s a LHRP, works cheap, at 900k, and we could use one. I think we only have one other LHRP on the roster.
-
Don’t forget, Ohtani generates revenue in ticket sales, merchandise, advertising, etc. So, 500 mil is offset by the revenue he generates. Look at us. Ohtani was worth 5-10 thousand a night in attendance alone when he pitched.
-
Oh, and I would trade Ward for Glasnow without hesitation.
I don't get the interest in Anderson, though. A 30 year old SS that forgot how to hit. Pass.
-
The current ownership is not one to rebuild, he wants to reload.
Yamamoto, Bellinger, Turner.
