I’m surprised someone hasn’t noted that Paris is due for a hot streak. J/K.

Cisnero and Suarez both need to go. They can option Soriano, if they want to. I’d like to see them do that, then bring him back in 15 days as a reliever. He hasn’t been consistent as a starter, but he’s dominant as a reliever.
-
Bottom line, it’s up to the player. It would also help if the team had the top bid.
-
He might become similar to a couple of former Angels pitchers, Rudy May and Andy Hassler. Decent players with us, but pitched better after a change of environment.

Rengifo’s fielding leaves something to be desired. Maybe we do need to draft a 2B?

Over/under on how long it takes before someone suggests signing him to give Schanuel time to develop?
How about right now?

It would be nice if Rendon & Sano would start driving the ball, a couple of HR’s would be helpful.

Probably the second biggest mistake this franchise has made was to let Herzog get away. The number one mistake was trying to replace Nolan Ryan with two 8-7 pitchers.

Between Eddings and Angel Hernandez, those two are calling strikes that are three to six inches off of the strike zone, the black, whatever you want to call it.
In the days of instant replay, where an individual pitch can be replayed in seconds, there is really no excuse for this poor umpiring. Maybe those two can be sent back to umpire college to tighten up their strike zones, and to be reminded that the fans do not come out to see umpires, but to see the talent on the field.

Oh well, at least we have some options for the pen. We can always move Soriano back down there, I think he's better in the pen, anyhow.
There is always Ben Joyce, and Kenyon Yovan is throwing well in SLC.

The poor baserunning play was bad, no excuse for it. However, Adell seems to be making more consistent contact with the bat, and the ball jumps off of his bat.
We need to see whether or not the bat continues to play. If it does, then it means less time for Hicks or Moniak, I don't care which.
I also feel like the baserunning mistakes will eliminate themselves over time, if Adell gets the time.

I mean this is a legit issue for Sandoval because his fastball is dookie.
His fastball location is dookie. If he keeps it down, he can get outs with it. His problem is keeping it down.

I think we should continue our strategy of drafting as many power arms as possible. If the organization can find a few more players like Caden Dana and Barrett Kent, they could actually trade from an area of strength, as young, controllable pitching is MLB gold these days.
If you have it, you can trade for players that you like, that may make your team a championship caliber team.

I know it’s still early, but this team looks different than last year’s squad. In a good way.
Now, if we can get Rendon to join the party, we may be able to contend. -

This is probably the best thing that we, as Angels fans, can do. Rendon knows he’s not contributing right now, Wash feels that he brings something positive to the team, so for as long as the team is winning, they can carry his lack of success.
Just a comp from ancient baseball history, but Willie Mays was 0 for his first 20 mlb at bats, and he turned out OK. That last part was in hopes of making some of you laugh.

Great game pitched by Anderson. Just enough offense to win. Sandoval keeps it going tomorrow!
-
So, we must have, at some point, released Pomeranz. Figures he'd sign with the Dodgers.
-
He'll pitch for ML minimum wage, and right now, he's better than our opening day starter. I fail to see a problem here.
Arte and Perry, what are you waiting for?

It is very cool that the Angels open up on the road, against a 101 win team in2023, and against the NL Cy Young award winner, while the other team in town opened up at home against a 71-win team in 2023.
Why does it seem like the Angels start on the road every season?
-
Absolutely! I don't know what to expect next off-season in the Corbin Burnes sweepstakes. I expect we will have a little money to spend, though.
-
I went with 90-94, with 90 being where I think we will land. The young guys, O'hoppe, Neto, and Schaunel will step up in their first full seasons, Detmers will pitch well all season, and Trout will be healthy all year.
I am very optimistic.

Most undisciplined Angels team in years?

Didn’t RW say that we would be better defensively?
I’m not seeing it. We are White Sox terrible on defense. And, why does the pitching staff fold, as a group, at the least sign of adversity, instead of buckling down, hitting that location, and getting the next hitters out?
