No, but in some cases we all get together and decide that we can better manage something together than individually.

All plans have a maximum out of pocket...now...why is that...should we send a thank you note to dad?

Yes, there are many reasons coverage is expensive here...mandates being a very small part of it. Just like overuse of services, lack of coverage resulting in people utilizing emergency services rather than basic wellness screening, poor health maintenance and managing of chronic diseases, excessive drug costs, etc. etc. etc.

ps. in some cases that high deductible plan is all people are offered because the system is setup to use employer based coverage

I don't want anyone managing my affairs other than me because I know what I want.  If I fuck up, it's on me and no one else.

The last thing we want is a race to the bottom when it comes to health insurance. At that point you allow a state, let's say Texas, to become incredibly pro payer and you end up with all sorts of loopholes in coverage. It would allow companies to head off to a state that has stripped out most regulations and then start selling junk insurance in other states, like California, which provide more consumer protection.

You think insurance companies get away with murder now, institute selling insurance across state lines and watch what happens.

It came out that Obama is going to throw his support behind Clinton this week.  I think that will change things for Bernie.  Even if he wins CA, the margin will be so small it won't influence anything.

I did the math and if Hillary gets half of the pledged delegates from all the states today she will be at ~2150 pledged delegates.  I think there is only one other primary before the convention and it is only 20 delegates or something so no matter what, unless Hillary gets about 75% of the vote today, she can't have the pledged delegates to have the nomination.

The hilarious thing is that Bernie and all the selfish shit he has done over the last couple months when it was clear he couldn't get the nomination has only hurt the Dems in the long run when it comes to the national election.  No surprise though because nobody loves attention more than Bernie.

Bernie and his supporters stopped reading there.

I use the Costco card to buy gas at Costco (duh) and other purchases at Costco.

As far as APR that's irrelevant, don't carry a balance on your credit cards.

Use a credit card like cash. If you don't have the cash to cover a purchase, don't buy it.

This exactly.  There needs to be a life course taught in high school where you learn how to do taxes, what a mortgage is, and the bolded above being most important of all.

Citi(R) Double Cash Card - Citi's Best Cash Back Credit Card

This is the one I use. I get 1% on purchases and 1% when I pay. Like the others have said I pay it off every month and never pay interest. I have taught my kids to do this also. If you can't afford to pay it off then don't use it.

I have checks mailed to me when it's over $50. You can have it deposited directly in your account like Cat said above or use it to pay down your balance I believe.

This is one of the best cash back cards out there right now.  For travel I really like the British Airways Chase card.  You can redeem the British Airways Avios points for flights on American Airlines at a pretty good rate.

I've just discovered the Dangerous Faggot. I love the way he puts the SJWs in their place.

I'm going to listen to the full video from DePaul a couple days ago while doing boring busy work at some point today.  I saw the highlights (lowlights?) yesterday, should be a good one!  He is speaking at UCSB today and students hung this banner welcoming him.

That's how I've felt. I haven't been insanely anti-Trump but with how psychotic these protesters are I almost want Trump just to spite them.

Fuck all these SJW's...they are getting what they deserve when Trump wins the presidency.
