The Banshees of Inisherin
Something of a collaborative sequel to In Bruges, this film reunites Colin Farrell with Brendan Gleeson and writer/director Marin McDonagh. Taking place on a small island in Ireland, backdropped by the beginning of the troubles, the story is about what happens when Gleeson's character decides he doesn't want to be friends with his best bud (Farrell) anymore. Farrell's character tries to figure out how he must have wronged his friend only for Gleeson to reveal that he just finds him dim and feels like he's wasting his life away spending time with him.
While there are quite a few laughs from the great interplay and dialogue between the two leads, Banshees is a dark, often sad examination of loneliness, isolation and regret. There is a lot to unpack thematically from a script that is anchored by two earnest characters, one reacting to a life wasted on alcohol and small talk and another grieving the loss of those small moments we share with others that are often our most enjoyable.

"Higher Love" is one of my three favorite songs of all-time.  It's a song that I never, ever get tried of listening to.

A couple weeks ago at a birthday party another old guy and I got into a discussion about Led Zeppelin and this lead me to listen cover to cover all of their studio albums during my daily walk/jog. I was surprised to find that I like III much more now than I did when I was a teen but not surprised that I still like this song best of all their stuff. It just has everything you think of when it comes to Zeppelin

For a really bad movie, Austin Powers Goldmember has a great opening.  The only good thing about it.
But as far as popular picks go, “I believe in America.”

I got suspended for saying Jenna Ellis can't understand normal thinking.  Turns out it was a wise decision in hindsight.  I've moved on to Tribel because Mark Kapoberg is awful, too.  Got my last few FB jails for calling Marjorie three toes the same thing.

Don't get the Mastodon hype, though.  I'll stick with the band.  The social media site is too complicated for me.
