    Ilitich has never hesitated to spend money and Dombrowski isn't afraid to make a major move....a trade for Scioscia is probably in the works.....half way kidding but not totally....

    Not sure we are going to be taking on much, if any, salary this offseason....Arte is always capable of a surprise but we really don't have much wiggle room if we're going to stay under the tax threshold....

    Mashing our way to the top was the plan this year...we were good offensively, even w/ Pujols hurt and Hamilton underperforming.....the plan needs to change this year....

    +1....would be surprised if this doesn't happen....I agree with storm that Bourjos is the least likely to be traded simply because of the injuries....

    We have 2 over 30 overpaid veteran bats.....we don't need another....we need pitching...

    And it's hard not to wonder where that extra MPH came from.....remember most of the Biogenesis guys tested clean....the Biogenesis evidence got them, not MLB testing...I hope Kazmir is clean but one does wonder......

    Would make some sense, if you were trying to trade him to, say the Nats, you'd want to keep it quiet....and maybe try and get it done quickly, minimizing media scrutiny to the extent that you can....

    They were ok in 2010 with a bad offense, good in 2012 with a mediocre offense and really good this year with a good offense...the constant has been terrific pitching...

    Wally: I was probably a little old school over the top, duh...but the A's are good primarily because they can pitch and pitch very, very well...we haven't pitched that well for awhile...that makes for good chemistry, methinks...

    B.S. Tinker and Evers hated each, didn't speak for several years, but were the best DP combo of their era....Bonds and Kent hated each other...everybody who played with Bonds hated him....good players have chemistry because they're good... We were bad because DiPoto made bade decisions....if he keeps Torii and Santana, stays away from Blanton, Hanson, Madsen and Burnette, we're s lot better...Hamilton and Pujols were bad Arte decisions...

    It looked likely, in mid August, that we would lose 90 games...late surge helped them....

    Relief pitchers tend to be reclamation projects...failed starters, etc....so maybe worth a shot...cheaper than a Madsen or Burnett...

    He better be clean.....ask Paula Deen about what happens when you get involved in a lawsuit, even if it's a crock....lots of questions will be asked and if Clark has capable counsel, anything dirty will get exposed....

    Hell to the no.....and it doesn't matter what anybody "wants" around here....after Pujols and Hamilton, we aren't going to be spending any money on big name FA's for awhile.....

    Downs had a pretty good run as an Angel (better than most of our relief pitcher signings) but he was not, contrary to the arguments of some here, a valuable chip at the trade deadline...Rasmus didn't impress and there was a reason for that---he's not very good, at least not at this point...

    I think it's a pretty safe bet that Arte has learned his lesson and Robby will not be in Anaheim next year...I hope so anyway....

    "Didn't play a meaningful game after May...." Probably ought to ask for that Cy Young back from King Felix if that is the critera....

    You could always trade him....not sure another team would swallow the whole 27 million but somebody would bite and take him, for sure....very good Managers have either been fired or moved on (maybe with the exception of Lasorda and Alston)---LaRussa was fired, Leyland moved on....change isn't always good but things do get stale....maybe we're there....I'm not sure....

    This isn't a 2013 thing...they've owned us since 2010...has not be a competitive series....

    Nothing new...they've owned us in Arlington since 2010....some really ugly losses in that span, particularly last year and this year....
