    Rather than DFA Suarez, I wonder if there might be a market for him, even though it is early for a trade. If you DFA him, you lose a little leverage, although you could certainly get multiple offers during the window to trade him, I guess. But, if you don’t get an offer you like, you’re kind of stuck—-take the best offer or you likely lose him to a waiver claim.

    I don’t think he would have much trade value regardless, with an enormous contract. But he’s now making sure that he’s not going anywhere.

    If Sano is out for an extended time, I’d play Drury and Rengifo every day at 3b/2b (whichever way Wash prefers) and forget about it.

    He might retire but he won’t give up any of his money. Stasburg did that.

    Remember when Erstad came up and, with 4 OF’ers, they knew somebody would have to move to 1b. It ended up being Erstad and, if I recall (my memory is frequently foggy), Edmonds made it clear he wasn’t moving to 1b.

    No word on a diagnosis is probably not a good sign.

    The big trade chip at the deadline, if he keeps it up and we aren't close in the Wild Card, would be Anderson. So far, he has tracked his 2022 season, which was outstanding. He would be worth a good prospect if he keeps it up. Maybe not a Top 10 premium prospect, but a very good prospect. The question is will Arte sign off on trading anybody if we're still anywhere close in the Wild Card hunt. We'll see.

    He’s still prone to boneheaded base running blunders but at this rate, you have to play him. Every day.

    Putting all the drama aside, what seems clear is he is an aging guy who can’t stay healthy. That is rather obvious. It happens to over 30 types.

    I guess it sounds like I’m throwing in the towel already but, if he keeps it up, he could be a pretty valuable trade chip in July.
