  1. Getting Iglesias from the Reds his first offseason in a salary dump (traded Noe Ramirez) was a solid deal. But we then salary dumped him to the Braves, unfortunately, where he is still pretty good.
  2. It’s not like there is risk to send him down. It can’t hurt, maybe it helps.
  3. My mistake....it seemed earlier, weird off season. The deal did seem like a reach, regardless of the injury. We'll see if he recovers and produces.
  4. There was a reason we signed him fairly quickly. He (wisely) jumped on an offer that appeared to be out of line with his track record.
  5. After a good game at the plate Wed, you might have expected Adell to be in the lineup but the boneheaded baserunning play probably took care of that.
  6. Ha....I guess Rengifo is your SS depth right now...but he is also your 3b and 2b depth...still think we should have looked at an INF option in the offseason, other than Adrianza.
  7. ^^^ This. And it is no knock on Schanuel’s long term prospects. I think some AAA time would be beneficial. Drury, Sano at 1b, Rengifo at 2b.
  8. If he is going to put up a 22 type year, or even close, it gives you options. Keep him and ride him or listen to trade proposals in July. If he keeps it up, he’d be attractive to contenders.
  9. You figured something would happen sooner rather than later to push Soriano in to the rotation. But maybe not this soon.
  10. Why would they want their guy to have an error? Unearned run for the pitcher?
  11. I was much more optimistic. I thought by May 1st.
  12. We’re two weeks from Tax Day. We might know something at Memorial Day.
  13. I think it had more to do with this decade of bad baseball than anything else. Bad FA signings hurt but not having depth in your organization is suicidal. Not sure who made the decision, Reagins or Arte, but it was devastating.
  14. Wish I could have made it Chuck but Tennessee is a long ass state and I am 4 hours away.
  15. Fair points and well thought out....but it was frustrating to see the market flatten out late and not take advantage of it, with lots of money to spend under the luxury tax. On the other hand, not sure what might have been a good fit. Snell was short term deal and would have cost a draft pick, Montgomery was short term and may not have wanted to play for the Angels. Martinez was a short term deal and maybe not a great fit. And, as you say, short term deals probably didn't fit where we are. Still frustrating though, particularly after so many bad FA signings to have seen the opportunity pass us by.
