  1. Don't disagree with most of what you say....but, at some point, shouldn't an agent read the market and tell his guys, "this is probably going to be the best we can do"? Chapman turned down over 100 million from the Blue Jays last year, undoubtedly with Boras' input. Did he read the market correctly? If Snell turned down 6/150 from the Yankees in January, as has been reported, will he make, either in a shorter term or longer term deal, at 31, 150 million before he retires? I just think stubborn, obnoxious and hardball playing doesn't always serve the player well. Most times, it probably does, but flexibility is a good thing. But that's just me.
  2. I am frequently wrong but I am starting to think that they never make it to Vegas. Too many questions still out there.
  3. I’d at least see what the Giants are willing to do with JD Davis…3b/1b coverage…
  4. Have to wonder if he was damaged goods when we made the trade…
  5. Working out on your own also doesn’t get you reps in a real game against big league hitters. No matter how much Boras tries to downplay its importance.
  6. I guess in theory, you could get the equivalent of a 2nd round pick in a trade, depending on how well he pitches.
  7. Giants sign Chapman. Sorry if already posted. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/03/giants-to-sign-matt-chapman.html
  8. I tend to agree....but with the one caveat that I think Clevinger or Lorenzen could still be in the mix...
  9. All that being said, I guess the question is still whether he is in the loop on the club's current thinking on Snell and Montgomery. He may be delivering an old message, before the Bellinger signing maybe shifted the market. Don't know....
  10. I don’t know if Snell and Montgomery necessarily equate to Bellinger. Lots of red flags about Bellinger so he was obviously overpriced by Boras. It may just be that the market has flattened out for all of the remaining guys…for sure there are red flags with Snell and Montgomery too. We’ll see.
  11. Why would you assume that? I might be more inclined to think that Snell’s price, like Bellinger’s, has dropped significantly and we might get him for a decent price.
  12. Yes…short video interview. https://www.bing.com/fd/ls/GLinkPing.aspx?IG=8BBF65CB1391479A8BF3E3F6EFFA088E&&ID=SERP,5501.1&SUIH=qrhelIML8-lgL5AX2iRWEg&redir=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZXNwbi5jb20vdmlkZW8vY2xpcC9fL2lkLzM5NTg2NzMx
  13. Hard to read Hal Steinbrenner. He seems reluctant to get that far above the luxury tax…

  15. Could be but I don't see that being a back up INF'er in Detroit is that much more appealing...
  16. I don't know that the Mets are going to bite. They seem to have been pretty set on not spending a ton this offseason. They still owe a bunch this year (I think) on the Verlander and Scherzer deals. I'd be surprised if they go after Snell or Montgomery. Maybe Lorenzen but not Snell or Montgomery.
  17. Trout isn’t going anywhere. The Angels would have to eat a huge amount of his contract.
  18. No choice otherwise. He’d be claimed if they try to outright him.
  19. Getting hurt when he could have played everyday replacing Trout was a really bad break...
  20. If they are really interested and this isn’t just an Agent planted story, I might bet on the Yanks…
