  1. What if you can get the Mariners to eat half his contract and get him for $12 Million a year?
  2. Heyward is young enough where he can sign a 5 year deal and still sin an 8-10 year deal later on. I don't see the love for him though.
  3. Cespedes is having a typical contract year.
  4. Would anyone go back and consider a CJ Wilson for Ethier swap? Dodgers need starting pitching badly.
  5. Mets have a big enough lead now that Utley better hope he doesn't have to bat in this game.
  6. Wonder what Pete Carroll lackey USC will get now. Norm Chow? Ken Norton Jr?
  7. If you're trying to prove a point, it doesn't help your point when you post something Albert Belle did. He's one of the biggest a-holes to ever play the game.
  8. Utley should be suspended for it, plain and simple. He had no intention of touching the bag. He practically tackled the guy. If you watch the replay, Utley lowers his shoulder before he goes into Tejada. That's not a take out slide, that's a tackle. Absurd if nothing gets done about it but MLB usually does nothing anyway.
  9. You shouldn't be able to go out of the baseline to do a take out slide. That was a dirty slide by Utley and he should be fined or even suspended for it. He had no intention of even trying to touch the bag on that slide.
  10. Rams are the fifth LEAST valuable team in the NFL. There is no way they're going to go from that far down the list to #1 because they built a stadium and moved to LA. That behemoth of a stadium in Dallas is part of the reason the Cowboys are so valuable, but it's also the marketing. Jerry Jones sued the NFL back in the mid-90s to get the marketing rights back for the Cowboys. All the teams in the NFL are marketed by well, the NFL. They all share the profits when it comes to marketing. The only exception is the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys are the only team in the NFL that owns 100% of their rights. So they can enter any marketing deals they want and they keep all the money from them. The Rams will definitely be more marketable in Los Angeles. But they'll still be sharing the pot with the rest of the NFL.
  11. On a semi unrelated note, one thing on my bucket list is to go up there and watch a Midnight Sun Game.
  12. I don't get what Sean Rodriguez is even upset about.
  13. Disney had to do this. The attendance issues at Disneyland have been ridiculous the last few years and this year has been one of the worst. I don't have an annual passport so when I went a few months back I had to just buy a regular ticket. When I go with my family, we usually start at California Adventure, spend about 5 hours there, then head over to Disneyland for the rest of the day. I ended up going into Disneyland first so I could get a locker and put our stuff in there so it would be waiting for us later that day when we returned. A few hours pass and the rumor starts going around Disneyland has closed it's gates. We try going over there and are told that they can no longer allow anymore people in because they reached capacity. This was around noon or so. They were closed down for the next 12 hours! Some of my family has the season pass and they say the over crowding there is completely out of control. Way too many people with passes are going there and just clogging up the parks and ruining the experience for those that don't get to go as often or for those who are coming from out of town to visit Disneyland. So this was long over due.
  14. Whenever you think of a trade proposal ask yourself the same question but from a Reds perspective. If you won't do it then it's a bad trade. And that's an awful trade for the Reds.
  15. If the Angels can somehow get Span, Zobrist, and Davis... I think that would be a pretty damn good off season and should increase offensive production big time. I still think we would need a real ace. Richards just doesn't do it for me. I think he's a good 2 or 3 guy. I just think getting a Price or Grienke is much needed.
  16. Epplers first move will be to extend Victorino per Scioscia request
  17. Maybe this will end up being a great hire but I'm hesitant to get excited for a guy who came from an organization whose philosophy was to just throw lots of money at free agents.
  18. You're right. I'm personally not big on having to save a first round pick. This isn't the NFL or NBA where your first round pick is going to contribute right away. It all comes down to how good are your scouts. The MLB draft is huge and chances are most of you're really good players are going to come from the later rounds anyway.
  19. He should have never been hired in the first place. He had no managerial experience and the Nationals expected him to take a Team built for the World Series and win immediately.
  20. If the Angels are going to go over the luxury tax this is the year to do it. They have a lot of money coming off the books after next season. So getting what you need now and just paying the tax for one year isn't going to kill them. I think they have something like $50 Million coming off the books after next season, most of it is CJ Wilson and Weaver. I would love to see the Angels get Price and Justin Upton. Upton would probably cost us or first round pick however.
  21. Does he stay or does he go? He was pretty bad this year and not sure the MLB club is where he should be getting on the job training.
  22. I don't think they need to fire Scioscia because of today. But I think they need to fire him so the new GM can get his own people in here, including coaching staff. The Rangers were the worst team in the AL last year and they hired a new manager and won the AL West. I think it's time for new blood in the front office and in the dugout.
  23. Scioscia has already said he bases game decisions off feeling and not scouting reports.
  24. I was expecting a bottom of the order of Victorino, Iannetta, and Featherston for today.
