A lot of 'new' with the Ducks.
It should be a good season to catch on with. Verbeek looks to be a very good move. But it's early. Not enough time to see the full deal and the weaknesses that will show up. It's going to take 2-3 seasons before the team is in his image. But, what we've seen so far looks really good - especially compared to what Bob was showing us.
Compared to watching the Angels, this should be good times.

After coming back and tying it 6-6, that was a game Edmonton needed to win. You can't blow a Markstrom meltdown.

They may stop dealing with us.

You know what I mean, though. It wasn't that his skill level wasn't there. He just did really stupid stuff on the ice. Stuff that would make you shake your head and say ,"What is that guy thinking?"

Right now, I got nothing though. An avatar that shows the Ducks as the second worst team in the NHL just doesn't have much appeal.

Maybe a collage of ex Ducks who have been in the SCF the last 5 years?  Naw, not enough room for that.

It's kind of a joke. Perry has been on the losing side of the SCF the last two years; Maroon has been on the winning side the last three years. I don't know what Pat's status with Tampa Bay is. But, I imagine he's coming back. Maybe Perry decided to follow Pat.

I'm not a big fan of Bettman, but I think he's done hockey a real service by taking it in the direction you allude to. I don't miss the days of all the staged fights and the talent wasted on less talented players thugging up and ruining the careers of hockey's limited pool of elite players.

This whole system of not being able to watch sports unless you subscribe to an expensive cable package is so sleazy.

Wow, only two games in and the Ducks and Kings are already in a fierce battle for last. Four collapses in four games. 
Slow down guys. You have all season to stink things up. 

Detroit will be worst and the Rangers, Blackhawks, and Devils will win lottery so #5 pick is more likely

I'm still optimistic of my 'get together some time in January and start the season in February' guess. But I see a lot of incentive to push the start back. Vaccine should allow full arenas sometime end of March into April. If they wrap the playoffs by October, you could start a full season in December?
I don't know. I kind of hope no matter what happens, that they permanently move the season back to a November or December start. I think it would help the sport. 

My mistake. Yah, no hockey in the summer Olympics. They could still take a break during that period.
I don't know. I think the more the thought process distances from this being a normal season, the easier it is to come up with solutions. 
They can get back to normal in 2021-22. Hopefully by then, they will have decided to move the season start back to November/December permanently.

Another thing I read which was interesting.  So the NHL has a 50/50 revenue sharing plan.  Or it is more of a profit sharing plan.  So here is what I didn't know.  Say the NHL says, and I'm drunk so don't want to look it up right now, but say the cap is $80 million.  And the actual revenue for 2021 is $70 million.  So that means there is a shortfall of $10 million.  The cap will then be in deficit, so it can't go up until that $10 million is made up.  So in 2022, it'll stay at $80 million, but the league will have to make $90 million a team in order to even consider the cap to go up.  
So my guess, is both sides are being real careful to make sure that they can hit their numbers.  And if they have to delay the start so that a vaccine is more in play, I think they are going to do it.  Because the NHL can't afford to royally fuck up like the NFL is doing, and MLB came close to doing.

I don't see them scrubbing the entire season. I think they had too much success with the playoffs.
I could see them playing a modified season to set up another playoff though.
