General NHL Talk 2019-2020

Recommended Posts

Might as well get this thread started also.

In case you are wondering.  Listing of all free agents this offseason.

https://www.spotrac.com/nhl/free-agents/ufa/

And to make is simpler, I have pared it down to all free agents that scored more than 40 points, and is under 30 years of age.

So happy the Rangers stayed away from Karlsson. Not much tread left on those tires.

Loving the Jacob Trouba trade. NYR gives Winnipeg back the #20 pick that they had given them for 25 games of FA Kevin Hayes, plus extra-extra defenseman Neil Pionk. One of the best trades they have made in a long time.

San Jose just traded away Justin Braun so they have around $15 mil to spend with Labanc and Meier RFA and Pavelski, Donskoi, and Nyquist as UFA not to mention Jumbo Joe. Those pricy D- men better score because their bottom 6 forwards could be pretty pathetic

This year seems like the year that the offer sheet will be used.  So many teams in a cap crunch, needing to sign so many players.

BTW first round of the draft is tonight at 5 pacific.

Its weird Zubov never won a Norris trophy, he had 89 points in 78 games in 93-94 season as well as 66 in 64 games in 95-96 season, in 2005-06 at age 35 he had 71 points in 78 games.

What a weak HOF class!

Zubov was a beast and never got the praise he deserved. He led the NY Rangers in scoring on their 93-94 Cup winning team. Quite an accomplishment considering he was on the second unit power play behind Brian Leetch, and a linup that featured Messier, Graves, Larmer, Kovelev, Tikannen, Gartner, and Kocur.

Vegas trades Haula to Carolina but still well over the cap. I'd love to take Pacioretty off their hands to help them out

Hard to believe they are already in cap hell.  And on top of that, they aren't that young.

Definitely unremarkable especially when stacked up against a Canadian legend like Wickenheiser

With the exception of Wickenheiser, the rest of them are Harold Baines.
