We havent decided what games we will go to yet....working around my boys spring break from school.

With the 49ers D...Most casual 49er fans only really know Bosa...but it's a healthy Dee Ford (you know what he is capable of), with Bosa, Armstead, and Buckner. The line backers, with a healthy Alexander to go along with Warner and the emergence of Greenlaw are very fast and very good in coverage. Moseley and Sherman just shut down Devante Adams and stopped Jones and the week before shut down Cook and the Vikings. They can handle the RBs and Wideouts...what scares me about the matchup between the 49ers and the Cheifs is Mahomes. Mobile QB's, like Kyler Murray, Wilson, Jackson and Mahomes have killed the 49ers. The D-Line is ultra aggressive and sometimes the lanes and containment break down. If that is the case....it will be a long night for the 49ers. On the otherside, Mostert is the feel good story of the year. The dude has been huge this year....If Coleman is healthy, the running game is dangerous. What really throws off most teams, is the running game will involve Kittle and Samuel. Very physical runners (RB's included). They always are picking up extra yardage after contact. Jimmy G can, if necessary chuck the rock, he just needs not to make the bonehead throws and reads. This should be a very good game.

You need to contain Mahomes... The 9ers have struggled with the likes of Wilson, Murray and Jackson On the plus side, Dee Ford and Kwon Alexander have been healthy for the post season, which helps to chase down the speedy QBs. This season the 9ers have won ugly against the Steelers, wont in dominant fashion with the defense and the run game and have slugged it out with the likes of the Saints and the Ravens. Everybody over looks the likes of Samuel, Sanders and Bourne on the offensive side. They can put up big numbers if necessary. If the 9ers get a lead in the Superbowl, unlike the last two weeks, the need to keep the foot down on the gas pedal otherwise the Chiefs will blow right by them.

When you have a team defense that is in the top five and a rushing attack that is #2, you do not need a QB to throw...Both the Vikings and the Packers knew what was coming and the couldnt stop it....The 9ers throw a pass with 2:10 left in the 2nd quarter, and didnt throw the next pass until about 9 minutes left in the fourth quarter.

My question for those of you smarter than me.... Is Billy's spin rate, the new money ball OBP theory? At what point does spin rate back fire? We dont seem to have much success in this area. I know most managers dont have a say, but could this also be a Maddon suggestion?

He also had 33 HR's, 74 RBI and 92 Runs scored with a war of 2.3 I may stand corrected...just looked up Goodwing who was a 2.1 WAR, 109 OPS+ vs Kole's 108 OPS+ Defense will be the difference.

Without diving into all of the metrics.... We are replacing Cahill, Harvery, Skaggs (RIP), Barria, Sandoval, anyone with 1/2 of an arm with Bundy, Teheran and Ohtani. That alone is a nice boast. We are replacing our 3B clutter from last year (.243/.306/.345/.651 13 HR's and 58 RBI's) with Rendon. We will see some fall off in RF, but hopefully some better production from Upton will help to off set it. With these moves alone, I would imagine we are at least 10 and closer to 15 wins better than last year. If we finish around 88-92 wins this year...I think I would be pretty happy. We may not make the postseason, but we can be playing some meaningful September games.

I get pitching has not been addressed to everyone's expected desires. Heck, I still want to see a move that improves this club. I think Ohtani has the capabilities to be a top of the rotation guy. I also think that Ohtani in the next year or two gives up hitting on a regular basis (just my opinion). I also think Marsh (prior to the article being released) is truly an undervalued prospect on this board...hence every GM wanting him in return for starting pitching. I think we will require another starting pitcher before the season starts....I think we will all be disappointed in whomever is acquired...I am fairly confident we will not be disappointed in Marsh's output in a few years.

First off....I am in the camp the we need another starting pitcher. With that being said, the off season pitching pick ups will (and Rendon) will make this team much more competitive. Based on WAR, both Dylan and Teheran would have been in competition for staff ace last year: Bundy: 2.3 War Teheran: 2.4 Heaney: 1.0 Canning: 1.1 Barria: -.6 Suarez: -1.2 Skaggs: .9 Peters: -.7 Harvey: -.7 Pena: .8 With a new staff of: Bundy (2.1) If you compare him with Harvey +2.8 Teheran (.5) If you compare to Peters or Barria: +1.2 Ohtani (2.2) if you compare to Skaggs +1.3 Heaney (2.9 +1.9 Canning (1.7) +.6 ?? Without a sixth starting pitcher added, we are have increased our starting pitching WAR by 7.8....is it great...obviously not...but it is a move in the right direction.

Pass on moving Adell.... If he is moved, we would have Marsh in RF...but ideally I see him in LF taking over for Upton in a few years...with Upton DHing on Ohtani's non DH days.

I am good with either Ryu or Kuechel...but I want to trade for Robbie Ray. I think he is under appreciated. Getting away from Chase field and Arizona, I think Ray can be a very solid #2/#3 pitcher.

Three picks from last years draft have been moved...two in the Bundy deal and now Wilson.

Whatever happens...I know this....we will be disappointed and people will be bitching about the pick ups by February.

My wife teaches preschool....I have been called her Dad many times before. Take into consideration a few things about the young children... They think there mommies are anywhere between 5 years old and 100 years old While estimating a jar full of candy corn, usually about 150 pcs of candy, many kids guess in the single digits

I'd like to see Fletcher at 2b full time next year...We can move a guy like La Stella or keep Renigifo in AAA. La Stella can play 1B when Pujols is DHing. I'd be good with adding a MOTO 3Bman.

The Twins released Allen. Didnt like the CAhill signing...I like the Harvey signing....ugh!! We should have kept the catching unit from last year.... Again at least they are all one year signings and didnt cost anything to acquire them.

A few years back, when Dusty Baker was managing the Giants, talked with him and his family at a Scooby Doo Live concert in Phoenix. This was during Spring Training time. Met Tim Salmon up here in Prescott AZ...he was coaching his sons travel ball team (Also had Tom Candiotti's kids on the team). Salmon played ball with the guy I used to coach little league with. When Salmon was up here, he called me up. Not an encounter I had...but Jose Canseco is now playing means slow pitch softball. He was up in Prescott VAlley a few weekends ago playing in a 50+ tourney. A friend of mine plays and umps...said Jose could still mash the ball....but couldnt run to save his life.

Played little league against and graduated high school with Robb Nen Graduated high school with JT Snow's sister Met OJ before he killed his wife...he was filming a commercial and hitting golf balls on the football field. He introduced several of us to Roger Craig Mark Creese (former Dodger coach) lived in my neighborhood when I was a kid...he used to give us the handles of the bats of Dodger players (Bill Russell, Ron Cey, Garvey, Yeager)....of course we played whiffle ball with them.

It's not ideal...but if we let Calhoun go and Adell struggles...for short time, you can move Fletch to RF, with and let La Stella, Simmons and Rengifo play in the IF. Again, not an ideal situation, but a decent back up plan...to go along with someone like Goodwin or Herm.
