  1. It really doesnt...Lance is going into his third year of a rookie QB deal....If he is moved, it would be a $10 million salary cap hit. Jimmy G should be gone this offseason. The 49ers cannot resign Jimmy G, Bosa, and they have a $12 million option on CMC. I have read that people in the media assume Purdy will be the starter next year. I would imagine a QB competition in the offseason.
  2. This is awesome Chuck...Great Job! I want to challenge all AW.com members to do more....Go out and volunteer with a Challenger Little League baseball team. https://www.littleleague.org/play-little-league/challenger/ Here in Prescott AZ, I have been involved with our Challenger team for the last 9 years. It is the most rewarding team I have had 'coaching' baseball (I have coached since 2000). The special needs kids are so completely genuine, loving and caring (I actually had one of our kids sing me happy birthday this past month). The families are so appreciative to have people who care about their kids, who want to 'teach' the basics of baseball and who just want to be involved. I have had both by children and my wife help with the team, and this past year my wife became 'Team Mom'. It is the best experience I have had coaching baseball and working with these families. Go out and volunteer...you will not regret it! You can find my team on Instagram @pll_challenger_baseball
  3. Checking the couch now for some extra coins to make my offer!
  4. Hey Chuck...When you go back, see if you can talk with the new pitching video coordinator. Back in March, my wife and I were coming back from Texas and this kid is dressed in Angel gear (I say kid, but he was early 20's). Nice kid. He was just hired to be the Trash Pandas video coordinator. This is his first full year with them. He was an intern last year. He would be interesting to see what he is doing and he is helping the pitching staff.
  5. 18 of 19 signed https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/draft/los-angeles-angels/ Ceballos is the only unsigned player.
  6. According to Fangraphs at the start of the year for the Phillies... Moniak was the #22 prospect Sanchez was the #29 prospect . 22. Mickey Moniak, CF Video Drafted: 1st Round, 2016 from La Costa Canyon HS (CA) (PHI) Age 23.7 Height 6′ 2″ Weight 195 Bat / Thr L / R FV 40 Tool Grades (Present/Future) Hit Raw Power Game Power Run Fielding Throw 50/50 45/45 30/35 55/55 50/50 50 While it’s typical for prospects’ numbers to spike during their time at hitter-friendly Double-A Reading, Moniak’s numbers have done the opposite. He hit more homers in fewer games at Triple-A than he had in 2019 at Double-A, despite having left Reading’s hitter-friendly confines, which could lend credibility to his having sustainably addressed his previous shortage of in-game power. Moniak spent the bulk of 2021 at Triple-A but showed up on the big-league roster for several short stints throughout the year. His cumulative performance there left a lot to be desired. In his 37 major league plate appearances, he got only three hits – two singles and a home run – and struck out 43.2% of the time. If he can maintain the boost in power and tap back into his feel for contact, he’ll slot nicely into the bottom of the Phillies lineup as a lefty-hitting fourth outfielder, but it looks like the entire industry whiffed on projecting Moniak’s hit tool. 29. Jadiel Sanchez, RF Drafted: 12th Round, 2019 from Escuela Natividad Rodriguez Gonzalez (PR) (PHI) Age 20.7 Height 6′ 2″ Weight 185 Bat / Thr S / R FV 35+ Tool Grades (Present/Future) Hit Raw Power Game Power Run Fielding Throw 30/50 35/45 30/40 50/50 30/55 55 The switch-hitting Sanchez has two simple, good-looking swings, he’s tough to beat in the strike zone, and he can sneak up on you with decent pop to his pull side. Early statistical returns (just 28 games in 2021) indicate he may also have plus plate discipline, as both his walk and strikeout rate was better than the Low-A average, though the sample is quite small (because of the strike-calling situation in Southeast, it’s a helpful rule of thumb to comp K%/BB% to league averages rather than the kinds of rates you’re used to seeing baseball-wide). Sanchez slashed .297/.373/.446 over the course of July until a COVID outbreak in the Clearwater training facility resulted in the cancellation of a handful of games. Shortly thereafter came an IL stint, effectively ending Sanchez’s season. He picked up reps in the Puerto RIcan Winter League, where his surface-level performance was poor, but he looked pretty good from a scouting standpoint. There aren’t big tools here, but Sanchez is a well-rounded young player with a very short supporting statistical track record. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/philadelphia-phillies-top-41-prospects-2022/
  7. You pretty much answered your question. Marsh (IMO) will flourish under different coaching. We cannot develop a player to save our lives.
  8. This move leaves Trout in Center (not a good idea) and allows Adell to be an every day outfielders. This means they are also sold on Ward as an everyday RFer.
  9. O'Hoppe is the third ranked Phillies prospect: Scouting grades: Hit: 50 | Power: 50 | Run: 30 | Arm: 55 | Field: 55 | Overall: 55 Most thought O’Hoppe was destined to head to East Carolina, where his father and uncle attended, after graduating from his Long Island high school in 2018. But the Phillies’ scouting department, which has found draftable talent on Long Island consistently over the last several years, was able to sign him in the 23rd round of that June’s Draft for an over-slot bonus of $215,000. After playing rookie and short-season ball his first two summers, O’Hoppe gained invaluable experience catching at the Phillies’ alternate site in 2020, using those lessons to go from High-A to Triple-A before finishing with a strong showing in the Arizona Fall League. O’Hoppe has put in a lot of work to refine his approach from the right side of the plate. He trimmed his strikeout rate down considerably in 2021 (17.4 percent), then walked more than he struck out in the AFL. All of that has allowed him to tap into his raw power more consistently and it’s easy to think he could top 20 homers annually in the future. He’s already proven to be a very capable defender, one who receives and blocks well and whose arm plays up because of his quick release and accuracy. The backstop’s work ethic will help ensure he makes the most out of his tools. He was named the Dernell Stenson Sportsmanship Award winner in the AFL because of his makeup and pitchers love working with him. There’s a big up arrow next to his name, with every chance of him being a starting catcher in the big leagues soon.
  10. This is a trade we will look at in a few years and ask why. Our player development is horrid.
  11. Pitch recognition....It seems too many players are guessing at pitches. We have four players with an OPS above .700 (and one of those is Trout) We have have three players with a batting average at .270 or above (no one over or close to .300) As a team we have struck out 985 times (next closest is Pittsburgh at 955). This leads MLB As a team we have walked 314 times (middle of the pack) As a team our OBP is .300 (#27 in baseball) As a team our OPS is .679 (#26 in baseball) These numbers are pathetic. It's not just Walsh who is struggling.
  12. Dont know how people ever watched Naked and Afraig, but Melanie Rauscher who was on the show passed away. I met and got to know Melanie through Slow Pitch Softball here in Prescott. She was a site supervisor and later a player, while I umpired her games. She was a fantastic person. She was taken too early. My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to her family. She will be missed by all that had the please to know her. https://people.com/tv/naked-and-afraid-alum-melanie-rauscher-found-dead-35-while-dog-sitting/
  13. Wayne Gretzky GRETZKY Titles 4 Finals MVPs 2 Regular-season MVPs 9 Seasons 20 Gretzky is "The Great One" for a reason. While he only has four Stanley Cup titles, he owns every NHL scoring record. Gretzky has the most goals (894), assists (1,963) and points (2,857) in NHL history -- winning a record nine Hart trophies as league MVP. He leads the NHL in assists per game (1.32) and points per game (1.92) -- while having the most hat tricks (50), even-strength goals (617), and short-handed goals (73).
  14. Very sorry to hear about this. Our prayers go out to you and your family.
