  1. I can't donate. I'm living on the edge financially and would rather buy a Trout jersey.
  2. That is pretty awesome that he followed up with you personally. If you don't want to email JD, you can always just PM your trade ideas to Tank. He'll bring them to the table at lunch.
  3. Dude. If you're living on the edge financially, it's a terrible decision to sell things on Paypal. You can't afford those processing fees. Any luck on the job front? Cali had some great advice. I recently moved out of state for my dream job. I was not even close to qualified for it. My manager admitted that I wasn't qualified, but loved my enthusiasm during the interview. Keep at it, and good luck!
  4. Yeah, basically you needed the Packers to do everything in their power to lose that game. And they did exactly that. From laying down on the 4th interception, to going 3 and out over and over, to giving up the miracle hail-mary 2 pt conversion, to dropping the onside kick. Crazy! At least you weren't one of the fans that left the stadium before it was over, and got stuck outside.

  6. I don't think baseball fans are giving up on watching the games because they've become too slow paced. However, I have heard many people say that they will not watch baseball because the game is too slow paced and boring. A lot of people won't give the game a chance because it's too slow paced, not because it takes too long. It's probably especially boring for people that don't understand many of the game's nuances. If MLB made it so that the game moved at a significantly faster pace, I think young people and casual fans would give it a try.
  7. In before he gives up "Fireworks" on the mound in the 8th inning and blows the game; which results in more fireworks from AO.
  8. Yep. But at least this will give the pitcher a chance to hold the runner before throwing the ball. Otherwise, runners could use the pitch clock to time their steals.
  9. I think the pitch clock can be effective, once the players get used to it. The pitcher does not have to literally pitch the ball within 20 seconds. They only have to come set on the rubber within 20 seconds. Once they come set, I believe they can stand there for as long as they want before they pitch the ball or throw to first. This would still eliminate the drawn out performance that many relief pitchers perform, in which they take forever to get the sign, play with their hat, fiddle with their glove, spit on their hand, and fix their jock in between each pitch before getting on the damn rubber. Having said that, I do agree that literally placing a pitch clock in every stadium seems wrong. It could work fine if the umpires actually forced the pitchers to become set on the rubber within a reasonable amount of time. I'm glad that MLB is also looking into changing the rules on challenges. It's really lame seeing the managers come out of the dugout 3 or 4 times a game just to stand around and BS with the umpire until the coach in the dugout signals whether or not they should challenge the play.
  10. That was awesome! I wish Irvin would have shut up and let him do his thing, though. Scott was a huge part of my childhood, as I was glued to the TV every day while he was on Sportscenter. RIP to him. As everyone has said, condolences to his family and daughters. He will be missed.
  11. Right now, I don't have much confidence that he'll bounce back. After reading 5 "Hamilton is in the best shape of his life articles" through the off-season and spring training, I might have a glimmer of hope. In all seriousness, if anyone has had a roller coaster of a baseball career, it's Josh. He definitely has the talent to produce. He obviously needs to get his head right first. I think it's a little bit premature to pronounce that he's definitely done for good. I remember a lot of posters saying that about Pujols after '12. He bounced back to a somewhat respectable year in '13. I'm hoping the same for Josh.
  12. Another solid move by Dipoto. Dealing from a position of strength, and there's not going to be a better opportunity to sell high on Jeppy. Would like to see Joyce hit 2nd if/when Hamilton flops. I was looking forward to seeing Cron get a full time shot this year. But, he'll still get plenty of playing time, as mentioned.
  13. Mike was an amazing man, and a huge part of this community. As you've discovered, we all loved him! Some of my favorite posts ever on this site were made by him, and he was just as much of a joy to speak to in person. Thanks for your post! I hope you stick around and bullshit Angels Baseball with us!
  14. When I originally read his tweet (before I saw this thread) I honestly thought he was reppin AW.com. I was shocked there wasn't a thread on this until now.
