Would be nice to have a starter going really deep or have a blowout win. Smith and Street were both shaky last night and yet both got results. Let's try to remember that when one of them inevitably gets beat after throwing good pitches. Would love to see S&S get a day off to recharge. A little.

I don't suppose it was Eddings at third in the playoffs against the Yankees. Remember we tag two Yankees who were off the base and somehow only got one out from the play? In the playoffs yet.

It does seem that Eddings doesn't miss a chance to go against the Angels on any close calls.

Quality start equals 3 runs in six innings. Works out to a 4.50 era. I think we would be much happier with these exact same numbers if we weren't winning. He has a bright future. His work through innings 2-6 yesterday were excellent. One hit and only 51 pitches to get 15 outs. Zero walks. Twice conger thought he had the K when Skaggs walked lead off in seventh. Little bit of squeezing going on.

The team started winning at an outrageous clip when ibanez was released and Cron started playing regularly. Cron sent to AAA upset the balance a bit. Love Mac but Aybar is a much better hitter as well. Maybe those two would have helped. Plus our lefty specialist just had a bad game. Aside from that first double nothing was hit hard in that last inning. It's just a funny game

Jose was great at theAW media round table in ST. He was engaging, funny and very nice. He mentioned that he could speak with or without the accent which he proceeded to do. Later on during picture taking and glad handing he was so very nice to my beautiful wife. When I mentioned that I thought he was going to do an Alabama accent whe he mentioned accents earlier. Damned if he didn't break out a "y'all" for me. He treats the fans the right way and I will never utter another mean aimed at him ever again.

I love hunter pences game but this IS a lopsided trade.

He can't be any worse. Ernie had a scared look on his face half the time. I think it will be addition by subtraction just like releasing Raul was. Ernie will find his slot again but it sure didn't look like he would do it for this staff.

Blanton was of course the biggest mistake of these four. He was outrageously over paid and we over committed with a two year deal. The other three weren't big dollars and didn't look to be horrible moves at the time. In fact if Raul were on last years pace we would probably be looking back at Oakland. If ( big word "if") Madsen and Burnett came back to career averages they would have been steals. As fans we had zero connection with Madsen. My heart breaks for Burnett after all of his hard work to have his arm fail him like that. And face it our mutual respect for Raul is for all the classy ass kickings he gave us as members of other teams. And Owen was a disappointment from the announcement of his two year deal. He sucked for the Dodgers the Phil's immediately before coming to the Angels. I actually see only one truly bad move out of these four mentioned. The others were just risks that didn't pan out.
