Mike appears to have no feel for his players at all. I don't think mike is trying to make any kind of statement to upper management. I just think he is out of touch.

When you wake up at 5:45 AM, it can only mean one thing

When I wake up at 5:45 it men's its my dy off and I slept in! See you all at the tailgate! -
Aurelio Rodriguez must have had his 8+fwar when he as still with the tigers if only Glaus,Erstad and trout have done it with theAngels.

Trout has been better than Mathis since just before the All Star Game. Just need to trust what your eyes are telling you.

West coast players rarely get the recognition they deserve for any of he awards.erstads stud season with 240 hits and 100 ribs from th layoff spot was good for 15th place in MVP voting. Weaver was left off of some ballots al together last year. Whe you vote for top five spots there is no way here were five pitchers better than Weaver last year. Nolan Ryan had 22 wins led the league in Ks ( 383 still the season record) era well under 4. Was easily the most dominant pitcher in the game and finished 4 or 5. Remember the BBWAA can give these awards to whoever they want. Same with Rawlings and their gold gloves. Biased organizations handing out awards is not a true indication of who the best players really are.

ROY are usually from a different time zone. Unless they have years worthy of MVP votes as well. Or they area trendy pick because the same team has had two or three consecutive players win. Oakland and Dodgers come to mind.

I will never go to the library again. I have been told since time immortal that if you wanted to learn the facts about something you go to the library's. I have always been fascinated by butterfly's and moths. They are so pretty colorful and flutter through life with such whimsy and at a pace that lets the, enjoy everything around them. The whole idea that hey were once less than pretty as a caterpillar is amazing to me. They climb their ugly butts up on a tree or the eaves ofa house and attach themselves. They somehow spin a cocoon around themselves and go to sleep. There is a true metamorphosis during this sleep/ hibernation.they break throught this outer shell and become who they were always were on the inside. This is truly a metaphor for life itself. Be who you are. Your inner beauty will come to light in time. By the way I learn all of this on the interweb. I stand by my opinion of the library as stated earlier. I went to local library because I was interested I. Learning about butterflies and moths and it was the most shocking event of my young life. I checked out a book called " advice for young mothers" and it was a total waste of time. Long live the interweb for learn in' . I shared this story to show just how good the first post really was.

To the people who thought Bryce Harper would be better than trout
Splint7438 replied to NrM's topic in LA Angels | MLB Daily
A lot of the TV guys last year were saying that Harper was going to be much better. They were wrong. Different players bringing different things to their teams. Both probably have an MVP in their future. Although Harper has an edge there playing on east coast. Harper has not really stood out as a douche except for that haircut. -
Players using PEDs that haven't been caught.

Ortiz. Kemp. Hanley. Encarnacion. Garza. No proof except for Ortiz, but rage issues combined with hot/cold play makes me wonder. -
Even if you count he 8.9 million women that were served by these programs the implication is a savings of over 1,000,000 per person serviced. I am not arguing the need for such services, that is for another thread. I am just saying that the numbers appear to be bullshit. The implication is the government would have spent 10.5 billion more if we didn't have these services. Implication hell the article actually says it.

The new greatest catch of all time
Splint7438 replied to FabulousFabregas's topic in LA Angels | MLB Daily
Chavez catch was a clutch play. No doubt about it. But as far as degree of difficulty it probably isn't even top 100. The stage is the only reason any of us even remember it. -
Biggest improvement, 2013 to 2014?
Splint7438 replied to Angel Oracle's topic in LA Angels | MLB Daily
I think Trumbo will have the biggest leap of improvement. He will see a lot better pitches because everyone around him will be performing. If Hamilton could just hit Colons weight I would be happy. -
The new greatest catch of all time
Splint7438 replied to FabulousFabregas's topic in LA Angels | MLB Daily
Was so nice to see a highlight reel catch that didn't come off an angel bat. I still think that Edmunds catch in Kansas City was the best catch of all time. Only one close is Mays off wertz and only because that one was in the series. -
A vast majority of the hate came when he went to the Yankees. Remember when everyone thought he was going to the redsox? Boston loved him? Then they wouldn't pony up the extra Cash in the trade to Texas and deal was called off. The hate came a week or so later when he went to the Yanks. Is stupid really. He was the greatest power hitting SS ever in his prime and switched to third to accommodate Jeter and go to a team that wanted a World Series ring. There are a lot worse characters in baseball.

He should go pro.

Another song thread - songs that always give you chills

Amazing grace -
Trout will repay the angels for the generous raise he received in the off season. Repay the loyalty they showed him.

Runner at third base and four batters come up and we get nothing. Not even a ball in play from the first three batters. This is losing baseball.
