  1. "Most" is 16 teams. I think the over/under is 3.
  2. Revenue Sharing. The NFL has this figured out. MLB will probably never adjust. It's why MLB is a regional sport and the NFL is a National/International powerhouse.
  3. This is great. No matter what happens from here Alan Carter is a great story. I am going to show this to my 16 year old son tonight. He experienced something like this last year when he was the first of his class, to get called up to Varsity. Thanks.
  4. It relates to the development of a fan base. The Clippers will take share from the Lakers with their new arena. The cool ticket in LA will become the Rams and the Clippers, both in the South Bay, not the Lakers and the Dodgers in LA. The Angels could do the same in the OC and tie it into a media deal. When you take market share from your opponent it equates to $'s in overall revenue.
  5. Sure, don't all teams want "entice" their base by having a nice stadium for 40,000 fans but are truly concerned it may hurt their 15 M person market TV/Streaming audience? Silly. 1950's MLB Silliness.
  6. My only inference to this would be the thread we are all posting on. If you know different then please enlighten us..
  7. I get it. I think you are probably right. Still, where there is confusion there is profit and I see a big opportunity for the Moreno family. So where do you think this ends up? If Ballys is gone, what happens? What does the Moreno family do?
  8. I'm not saying it will happen or it would be as big as the YES Network but I think it could work. And I don't think it would be "an Angels-led network". The Ballmer Clippers are moving next year into what will be the premier arena in the NBA. They are across the street from SoPhi Stadium, the Premier stadium in the NFL. The Clippers arena will make Staples/Crypto look dated and then Arte could build a new stadium in the Big A parking lot that will make Dodger Stadium look dated. I think a Ballmer's Clippers/Angels Network is viable.
  9. This makes a lot of sense. The YES Network is all about the Yankees and the Nets with other companies having a piece of the pie. Arte could partner up with Ballmer and the Clippers and replicate that.
  10. Have you never worked for a large corporation and your check was signed by a CFO who was an administrator not an originator of the plan? Welcome to the world business landscape...
  11. In other words, Arte should start acting like Mark Walter and not like Jerry Jones.
  12. I agree. If the Angels stay relatively healthy they will be playing meaningful games in September. Arte increased the payroll and Minasian has done a nice job in the offseason. Big mad makes no sense to me.
  13. I think some version of this is what they are going to do. Payroll is at $206 M.
  14. I think if you are "big mad" you should check yourself. Find a hobby that will keep you busy, maybe take up pickleball..
  15. There is a big gap between "low tens of millions" and 200 million dollars. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10061969-report-shohei-ohtani-generates-low-tens-of-millions-of-dollars-in-angels-revenue
  16. I am wondering if this is what has changed. Maybe his kids want to get involved and he is going to hand over the team. I know he has three kids - two boys. and a girl. They are not out there in public but we shall see.
  17. Give Perry/FO all the tools needed and then stay the F*** out of the way.
  18. So I was listening to Mason and Ireland today when the news broke. Been a fan for years, since the Go Go Zelasko days in SD, but they are really clueless to all things Angels. Their immediate narrative was to create a trade package for Ohtani to the Dodgers prior to opening day. SMH. They were unable to deduce this means Ohtani is not getting traded right now. They were including players in positions we don't need help in. They have no idea what the Angels needs are. Clueless. Dumb and dumber clueless. You would think they would maybe spend 30 minutes each week researching the Angels so they don't come off as idiots. I mean it's their job. And if they are dumb and dumber then their their producer, Greg, is dumbest. He should be prepared enough to at least help them make it through an Angels discussion without coming off as clueless. Do better John Ireland and Steve Mason.
  19. I see the strained relationship between Carew and the Angels as more of an Arte problem. But we digress, back to Jo...
  20. Thing You’d Like to See Under New Ownership. Ohtani.
