With just under 40% of the season in the books we unveil the Current MLB Tier rankings.   The Tiers were one of the first products to identify that Cleveland and Milwaukee were legit playoff contenders in 2024 as they placed in Tier 1 in the inaugural Ratings.
The Orioles and Dodgers are finally starting to perform at expectations.   The Orioles have only lost 2 of the past 14 Series, and the Dodgers have only lost 2 of their past 12 Series.   This was enough to propel both into Tier 1.
The Twins are the Shooting Stars moving from Tier 5 to Tier 2 as they ride an impressive 9-3 record for their past `12 series, turning around a dismal start winning only 1 of their first 7 series.
Most Series Sweeps goes to the Dodgers with (7)
Most Series getting broomed goes to the White Sox with (11)
AL leads the NL in series wins at 139 - 130

The following data points are the primary drivers:  # of wins,  # series won, current series win streak. Quality series win over Tier 1, +7/-7 last 10 games.
RPI has been added as a multiplier
*Tier placements consider a team’s entire body of work, however are weighted heaviest on recent games and game weights decrease in significance in reverse order.

Nope. The opposite was true. Maddon lost 12 of the 14; Nevin lost only 2. At least Nevin defended his players, especially when it came to the horrendous umpiring. And the players appreciated it. Who is defending them now?

Awful lot of young guys regressing this year.   Not what we signed up for.

These young guys don't even appear clinically alive, let alone hungry and eager to win. It's virtual sleepwalking out there.
