They are a retailer in the business of making money.  I can't believe they wouldn't want to sell team stuff on the three days before Christmas.  I think the chances of you finding them open are extremely good.

Don't ask him how he began liking the sport, or how he picked his favorite team.  It's more feminine than liking soccer itself (according to the majority of this board.)

I'm against this rule.  But, then again, I'm against replay too (unfortunately, replay is here to stay in this era of super-slo-mo replays and that garbage "K-zone".)

Bochy is right; collisions at the plate are not a big enough part of the game to be concerned about.  The rule was that you couldn't block the plate/base without possessing the ball.  Catchers caused a lot of these collisions by breaking that rule.  If the runner couldn't see any of the plate and was past the point of no-return to third, he would have no other options than to try to pry the ball loose.  I always felt the rule against knocking the ball-out at the other bases was silly too.  Most incidents at the plate could be avoided by catchers taking better position.

I'd like to hear from the "catchers union" on this one...  If Fosse, Avila, Posey, and the rest of them are for it, then I'd be ok with it.

What is it about his 91 ERA+ last year or his career 97 ERA+ and career BB/9 of 3.8 in the NL that makes this guy so attractive to people?  Are the Angels going to start a flag football team or something?

Small sample size, but in 50 innings of inter-league play this guy has managed an WHIP of nearly 1.5 and a raw ERA over 6.00.

Article couldn't be more vague. Since I'm not a fan of Sosh, I say he was the one that overruled the trade.

My concern is we hold out for Tanaka and we lose the posting to the Yanks or another team and Garza signs somewhere while we wait on Tanaka. It was just a thought.

    Chuck,
Any relation to Kyle Richter, starter drafted by the Rockies a few years ago? Love the quote!
    Trumbo for Richter.
MoonDogs Add Three More Pieces to the Puzzle
The Mankato MoonDogs Baseball Club, a member of the Northwoods League, is proud to announce the signing of three players for 2011 season. Infielder Nathan Goro from Jefferson College (Hillsboro, MO), left-handed pitcher Kyle Richter from the University of Southern California (Los Angeles, CA), and outfielder Joe Loftus from Vanderbilt (Nashville, TN) have committed to play for the MoonDogs for the 2011 season.
Richter, a 6-foot-4-inch, 220-pound freshman has the second lowest batting average on the USC staff, holding opposing hitters to a .230 batting average. Kyle has 2 wins this spring, with 20 strikouts in 26 2/3 innings of work for the Trojans. Kyle was selected in the 44th round of the 2010 major league baseball draft by the Colorado Rockies.
"Richter is a big body pitcher that throws in the 90-93 MPH range" said Orchard. "With good control I think he will fit well for us within our rotation this summer."

By the way that thieving of a tip is BS, but that's the cheap world we live in with SM blurring the lines of media. You still see some of the reputable guys citing those who break the stories.
