  1. Weren't the Pirates interested in trading Francisco Cervelli? That's my first pick. Then Reamulto and then Maldanado.
  2. Did Brian Downing ever back-up as a back stop when he was moved to LF? I don't remember and am too lazy to look it up. P.S. I miss Downing!
  3. FWIW Baseball Reference Projections for 2019 (Is this a new feature? I haven't seen it before): Trevor Cahill: 4.05 ERA 109 IP 1.312 WHIP Matt Harvey: 5.00 ERA 144IP 1.382 WHIP I'm doubling down on my statement that the Angels need to hit better to even maintain 2018's winning percentage.
  4. I would think La Stella would get traded or released, allowing Tulo to become utility, before Tulo would be released. I think the idea is to provide competition (i.e. Bour and Pujols) that makes the team better. Having said that, I don't think any acquisition so far makes this team competitive.
  5. I would like to see them move to Sacramento; the Giant's AAA club then could move to Oakland.
  6. “If a man is not a Socialist at 20 he has no heart, but if he remains one at 30 he has no head.” And if he is moved by pithy statements at any time, he has no balls. -- Eugene V. Debs
  7. *possessive *English P.S. In the Chicago Manual of Style Ausmus's is correct such as Shays's Rebellion or Adams's presidency. I believe MLA allows Ausmus' but that's because MLA sucks; they now want only one space after a period. Traitors!
  8. I was wondering the same thing. I looked it up last week. He is an above-average defender at 1st. Pujols, of course, has played third but that would be a disaster. I keep hoping that Albert moves to coaching to get the rest of his pay. But I guess that is why I am fanatical.
  9. I hope so then Trout will never go to Philly.
  10. I like it. I've very excited with this choice and for the same reason I think this was already a done deal: Ausmus is very intelligent, very cerebral, very articulate. I could see that the "test" was designed for him to stand out.
  11. But imagine people criticizing Mike but having to come up with evidence other than about his eating habits. Also, he does check all of Eppler's boxes (other than being a former Yankee guy).
  12. I'm not kidding by saying that discrediting fans is like the Soup Nazi banishing customers. Mike said that baseball was all about the players. I disagree. It is all about the fans. If fans go away, the game goes away. To tell fanatics that their fanaticism is amusing can cause people to stop reading the OCR.
  13. I'm rooting for Pujols to be a throwback player/manager. It will also kill two birds with the same stone.
  14. Didn't we get a reliever from Pittsburgh midseason?
