By the way, he is two years older than Carlos Perez, has played the same number of years, and has acquired the same WAR. Great trade Eppler, well done.

I don't think you are picking on me. But we can agree to disagree on talent. I think Eppler has found a diamond in the rough. I think San Diego and Atlanta gave up on him too early. I don't mind a low batting average as long as it brings along with it a high slugging percentage. The only question I have is the quality of defense at 3rd. My point in starting this topic was that there is a lot going on in the club right now; while many will be watching Ohtani, I will be watching Schimpf.

Ohtani's outstanding start overshadowed Ryan Schimpf's excellent start. Heck, even his teammates forgot to give Schimpf the now traditional silent treatment for his first home run, which also was his first hit as an Angel. Could Schimpf be the Angel's 3rd baseman of the future?

As he did with Trout, Albert's advice to Ohtani (get rid of high leg kick) already producing dividends. I think the question should be how long will Ohtani keep taking advice. I hope for a long time.

Not a big fan of Noe Ramirez other than he has a cool name. He looked very hittable during spring training. Maybe I'm too old school but throwing across his body looks like he is going to have a lot of accuracy issues as well.

It's fun to go. However, the seats are tiny; I had to put my arm around my father the whole game during a hot and humid afternoon. It was fun to watch the unique outfield culture. Here's my story: My dad and I were sitting along the third base seats close to the outfield. A Red's player hit a ground rule double that bounced just inside left-field line and into the third base bleachers. The outfield crowd started to chant at the Cubs fan who got the ball: "Throw it back!" So the guy belatedly does but during play. So the ushers (dressed in Khaki pants that reminded me of the Brown Shirts [Sturmabteilung]) start approaching this guy from all angles. Once they surround him, they go to remove him and that outfield crowd starts yelling at the ushers: "Let him stay!" The ushers back off and the crowd goes wild. The Cub fan hold up his three-year-old kid, dressed entirely in Cubby attire, and both sections go nuts. That scene paid for the tickets by itself. Have fun!

Of course, to be fair, that was the only time AK's upper-cut swing seemed to be effective. Still one of the greatest performances and greatest memories in Angels history.
