Even though I could not provide any context at the time...I did mention some rumblings that I had picked up from Mets fans last November about him. Which, in no slight to anyone (from some of the responses I received), only proves that none of us have any idea about who/what these players truly are nor how/what they think. Until. of course, they make them known on social media...lol!

My guess is that they must be looking at Thaiss as well. I mean...if it's not the plan...might it not have been more prudent for Perry to have traded for Sands than for Wade? Especially since they already claimed Velazquez who is the more capable of the two at short. I know (the need for a "utility knife" aside) that Sands spent last season in double/triple A but given that some believe he has the potential to be an immediate back-up to J.T. Realmuto for the Phillies...I was just curious.

Could get worse if one of the 2 signs Suzuki (given their reported interest) & he delivers on his potential...

In reading some of what the Met's fans have said...it's likely due to the fact he sat out the 2020 season but who really knows...

Whereas Stroman is talented...from reports...he's also/has been a disruptive force on the field/in the Mets clubhouse. Which, IMO, is not the "tone" or "aggressiveness" I think Minasian was talking about nor the type of personality Maddon would endorse either.

After Perry outlined the "type" of pitcher he was looking for, I began to discount any interest that they may have/had in Stroman...

IF he fulfills his promise, things are likely to get more interesting if either Texas or Seattle sign Suzuki, given their rumored interest.

Plus, what's also weird...if he's indeed calling out Perry here (as he should given that he & his staff didn't produce any more/better than Eppler did alone) whose decision was it to let an inexperienced coach (Wise) have the job after Callaway was dismissed?
