It does look good and the idea of bars, resteraunts, etc. all right there to hang out before/after/during games is cool.  But honestly, as a 50 year old whose two boys have zero interest in baseball, it's almost meaningless to me considering by the time it's done i'll either be dead or waiting to die in one of the OC's Covid-19 SNF death traps.

And warren buffet is not as rich as he was pre CV19.  Still he’s rich.

I've come to the decision that I  don't care if baseball is played this year.

People need to just accept that there is a lot of unknown about the virus.  They say one thing and then a couple of weeks later say a different thing.  It doesn’t mean there’s malice.  It means that we don’t know everything and shit is confusing.  Wear a mask.  Avoid large crowds.  Particularly indoors.  Don’t be disgusting and properly clean.  Live life with the pandemic with reasonable precautions and be conscientious of others.  If everyone would just accept the masks in some necessary scenarios the transmission would be dramatically slowed. Necessary scenarios: indoors among others where good spacing is not possible at all times.  It’s not complicated. 

99.8% chance is not accurate. politicians and media are throwing false numbers at you to serve their own ends.
an accurate picture of the virus isn't found in the total number of people who have the virus. the picture is found in the people who had the virus. those who have had a resolution to their case. they got better or they died.
i've been tracking those numbers from near the beginning. at the height of the global pandemic the death rate in closed cases was 21%. that's a significant number. now, it's logical to predict that the death rate would lower as more cases closed, stress on hospitals eased, etc.
as of today that number sits at 9%. so let's be factual when we talk about this pandemic, because there's still 3.7 million people in the world who know they have this virus. will 9% of them die, i doubt it, but it's not .2% either. 

I agree. Most of the people who are dying are old and previously sick. I think when the final numbers are understood, we will see that the death rate is lower than we anticipated, possibly much lower. 
But that is what I think, not what I know. Throwing out a statement like "this stupid virus is like the flu" is wishful thinking, not one based in fact. 

Yep and some of us will enjoy baseball being back while the others will continue to hate their favorite sport. 

It would be better if both sides could have managed to avoid negotiating through the media.

He does their bidding and tries to cast blame at the players even after it's become obvious who the bad actors are.   Fire him?  Dude is likely to get a raise.

Lame.  It’s almost like you could see this coming from the owners even before COVID-19.  Them wanting to eliminate so many minor league teams.   It really feels like they are using this whole situation for their own LT agenda.  It’s pathetic, sad, infuriating, etc etc. 

That is interesting news IP.  
However, they could still have been scouting tapes.  I suspect they could also have been in contact with potential draftees/UDFA up until the draft - which would have helped in the recruiting UDFA process. Assuming of course a team is actually interested in signing UDFAs.
