It's time for everybody to join me on the Tank for the middle Holliday brother train.  At the moment, we're 5.5 games behind Miami.  We can do better worse.
 

It was likely either:
1. The steals / base-running
2. The at-bats
3. The outfielding
Obvious conclusion from Swordsman is we have Trout do none of those things, so we can keep him healthy.

You should get a VCR.  Much less likely to set the wrong channel on one of these babies...

Maybe trade Rengifo for Stripling and Pederson

Yep, that's a reasonable opinion.  Chase Burns could be another, especially given the weakness at the top of the HS crop.
But I'm splitting hairs here with a distinction between "no chance" and "very small chance".  I think there's at least a small chance one of Wetherholt or Caglianone gets to us at 8 overall.
Condon, Bazzana, and Smith I think there's essentially zero chance, absent a medical issue.  They're all having monster seasons and are erasing the specific concerns teams might have had about them previously (Condon's contact, Bazzana's power, and Smith's command).

We're picking 8th.
We're not getting Charlie Condon, Hagen Smith, or Travis Bazzana.

Maybe this relaxes Schanuel at the plate a bit more so he can focus on game at hand and not pressured by an on-base streak.
