Offer Cobb 3/36 and call it an offseason.
-
Draft picks are lottery tickets. Has Canning thrown a pitch professionally yet? If you can secure the rotation for a few years by adding 3/36 and losing a draft pick I think it's a good deal. There might be more competition at the deadline, right now it seems there are deals to be had. Plus deadline deals mean losing prospects, isn't that what they're trying to save?

Damn. Yankees are really going all in this year. I'd love the Angels to sign Cobb and push Ramirez or Shoe to the pen.
-
-
I'd rather have Cobb who will probably get a similar deal.

Trade whatever it takes to get Archer and Colome.

There were reports that Kinsler declined a trade to a team last year. Knowing now that we are on his no trade list, wonder if it was to the Angels.

Why would the O’s trade Schoop?
They’re most likely losing Machado after this season. Schoop is a big part of what they do offensively. Back before Schoop blew up he was who I was hoping we’d trade Santiago for
Orioles have no problem scoring runs but have never had the pitching to compete. They'll want to make a final push before they lose Machado, Jones, etc. If we offered pitching they could control in case of a rebuild, they'd at least consider it.

Who wouldn't make that deal? Adam Jones is in his last year though so they'd probably ask for an OF too. Schoop and Simmons played together in the WBC and are reportedly friends.

O’s arent trading Schoop but let’s say they were willing to listen, we’d have to start with Richards or they hang up
The same Richards who is always on the dl and only signed through the end of the year?
-
What about Schoop? O's need starting pitching.
-
CC, Hernandez, and a lock down BP arm please.

Saw Brock Holt on the mlbtr list, what would it take to get him?

Remember when the board wanted to resign Maybin for next year?

NO Upton. NO NO NO. He may be my least favorite player ever. I've watched him on the Tigers and I'm telling you, we will rue the day we sign him. Don't believe the hype. I heard that he had a bad attitude, was lazy, etc but you have to see it to believe it. As soon as he got a fat payday from the Tigers he put up a whopping .650 OPS in the first half of the year. But that wasn't the worst part. Watching him lazily jog after fly balls that went over his head to the warning track became a regular occurrence. It's maddening how much talent he has and how little he tries to use it. I hope he opts out, and goes to the Yankees or Dodgers. NO!
I remember the same arguments about GA and I'd love him back.
I'd settle for Lorenzo Cain in left but we need another MOTO bat.

Giants shopping Span. Seems to be having a pretty good year, controlled for 2 more years, and would be cheaper than Maybin. Any thoughts?

Depends on how bad the Marlins want rid of this contract and whether they'd eat some of it...
I wouldn't want Dee but I feel like he's the easiest way to upgrade 2B and if Cowart plays well he can move to 3B or a UTL role if we sign Moustakes.

Dee Gordon.

What would it take to get Schoop? I know we almost traded for him a couple years ago. O's need pitching.
-
Hopefully Houston getting rocked by the O's in the 9th tonight helps our cause.

My guess is Hosmer goes to NY.
