Anyone who wouldn’t trade Adell for Berrios straight up is completely out of their mind.
-
I feel like this is the type of deal the Angels should make for a starter. The Angels don’t have a lot of elite prospects but have some good ones they could send to a team like Miami who has more than a few needs.
-
I wonder who the Reds gave up for Wilson and Cessa. If it was a pure salary dump I would’ve been ok with that if I were the Angels.

Hopefully Perry called the Phillies and offered Heaney or Bundy for the same prospects.
-
This might be better for your NL West version but it seems like both the Giants and Dodgers could use pitching and both have top C prospects. Maybe the Angels could get a bidding war going just to pull the rug out from under the Dodgers at the last minute for a little payback.

I don’t expect any of those guys to become anything other than depth.
we all probably need to temper our expectations for the return we can get. There’s no way the Dodgers are trading Ruiz or Gray for rentals. No way. None.
The Dodgers traded Willie Calhoun who was their #4 prospect at the time for a rental named Yu Darvish. Not that we have a Yu Darvish but their BP is trash so crazier things have happened.

R. Iglesias and Cobb/Heaney for Ruiz. (They'd probably still turn it down...)
R Iglesias and CRod would get it done.
-
The deal the Mets made for Rich Hill would have been a great deal to ship Heaney or Bundy off on.
-
I heard one of the other names they considered was the Cleveland Rocks. That would have been infinitely better.

Adell will be kept and Marsh will be traded for all the reasons fans want to keep Marsh and trade Adell.

No. Berrios is adament about testing the free agent market. I thought it would be a great move to package Marsh OR Adell for Berrios until someone, forgot which poster, posted that he is really keen on testing free agency and being able to hold the power in where he plays. No thank you to that. He doesn't even sound willing to discuss an extension.
So then it would be Marsh for Jose Berrios and a pick after the 1st round in 2023. The Angels would be crazy not to make that deal.
-
Keep Adell and hope he can at least replace Upton’s production. It won’t be much but at least it will allow the Angels to spend elsewhere(pitching).
-
Marsh straight up for Jose Berrios?
-
Gausman and Stroman in the off-season would be a win. Get a couple Ty Buttreys in trades this year and bring up Bachman to close next year. The offense will be fine.
-
QO is always a gamble but he might feel like he can top what Hendriks just got. He’s younger and has been more consistent over his career. Especially pitching almost his whole career in Great American.
-
Offer Cobb an extension, if he turns it down trade him to TB or NY. Bring back Barria to take his spot and see if he’s a real option for next year.
Trade both Iglesias but if you can’t find value with Raisel, you can always QO him. Toronto really needs another BP arm if they are serious about winning and they have some good C prospects. Trade Jose to the Mets or Cincinnati and bring up Stefanic until Arte signs one of the SS free agents in the off-season.
Trade Heaney, Cishek, Watson, and the rest for whatever you can get.

Detmers could be another Newcomb. They should pick the best pitcher available, high school or college.
-
What’s the rush to promote Adell? I say keep him in AAA and let him rebuild his value just in case the Angels need to trade him in the off-season.

I highly doubt the return for those guys would be any better than future Taylor Wards or Buttreys. If we really hit the Jackpot we would get another Sandoval but probably a Tropeano type
You could be right but it’s better than them walking and getting nothing in return. There’s too many holes on this team for them to compete in October.
-
They need to sell. They may not have another opportunity to restock the farm like this for a long time. They’re on the cusp of being really good but this pitching staff would get demolished in the playoffs. How many runs did they just give up to the dbacks?
imagine the return for both Iglesias, Cobb, Bundy, and Heaney. None of these guys will get a QO and they could all walk for nothing. Trading them now should help to secure some pitching for future seasons. It also gives Sandoval, Renfigo, and Barria a chance to see if they can stick next season. I believe they will all be out of options next year so it’s do or die time.

I do not think so as Lynn has a much better track record than Bundy. 60 game season last year.
I agree but last year at the deadline the sox were a contender and they would have gotten 1.5 years of Bundy.
-
We could have traded Bundy to the white sox for Dane Dunning last year.
