    Free agent pitching, trade for pitching, sign or trade for a catcher. Maldonado would be great for us now that we have a juggernaut offense.

    Rendon would be an awesome signing! If we sign him, we should keep Fletcher and La Stella, and trade Rengifo, Thaiss, and Ward for pitching.

    Trade for Wil Myers and take on his entire contract. Ask for a catcher, and the two best young pitchers we can get from them. Also, sign Ryu.

    I would have offered Cole 8 years/340 million. Unless Cole wanted to be a Yankee all along, that would have been an "offer he couldn't refuse" that we could probably have afforded. Oh well, the off-season isn't over yet.

    Absolutely give Cole a blank check. Cole on Saturdays and Ohtani on Sundays. Angels start winning division titles.

    There should definitely be a pitch clock. The games were much more watchable last spring training when they had that. I do think there should only be a pitch clock when there are no runners on base though. I hate this new reliever rule. What happens when Fernando Rodney comes in and can't throw strikes? Does he really have to face two more batters and load the bases?

    I like La Stella at first, his power justifies it. I think Rengifo/Fletcher have a high ceiling at 2B/3B.

    If the Padres sign Strasburg, I'm certain they would be desperate to get rid of the Myers contract. I think trading for Myers is out of the question if we sign Gerrit Cole and/or another expensive starting pitcher in FA. However, it may not be a bad plan B to take Myers off their hands if we can get a couple of quality pitching prospects in return, which they have plenty, and a catcher to boot.

    One of the SD catchers would be good. Myers is only 28 and played well late last season. He may be a good option to replace Pujols after 2 years. I think if we took on Myers' contract we could get multiple SD starting pitching prospects in return.

    Marsh learning first base wouldn't be out of the ordinary (Bellinger, Erstad, etc.), but I don't think it's necessary. Pujols and La Stella are good options at first base, and it's too early to give up on Thiass. Thiass hit .211 with 8 HRs in his first 147 AB, compared to Trout who hit .220 with 5 HRs in his first 123 AB. Obviously Thiass will never be Trout, but what he has done so far is respectable.

    Robles, Rodriguez, and Middleton are the only pitchers on our team with an ERA under 4. I criticize the lack of hustle from the pitching staff.
