  1. 1. we will win more than 88 Games 2. Calhoun will have his best offensive year 3. Trout wins MVP 4. Richards is an all-start and finish in the top 5 of Cy Young race 5. We will have multiple All-starts ( Trout, Bedrock ( lead the league in saves), Cozart, Upton and Richards) you but since i have the power i am going to add a sixth one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 6 Valbuena fill Flap and be replaced my Jose Fernandez
  2. always felt that Trop had the stuff and make-up to be a decent 2 or a solid 3 that could go 180 inning with a 3.50 era.
  3. nothing's getting hit hard, there're just finding opens holes.. eer so frustrating and he not getting the called strikes a few of the curves.
  4. woooooo, Calhoun!!!. I am expecting a rebound year and one of his best offensive season in his career.
  5. fastball command has looked really good so far. the off speed not so much.
  6. Dam Heaney's Era went from 0 to 4.63 real quick. But, this Bullpen has me on the edge.
  7. I'm starting to feel as if Marte wins the last banch spot over Walsh.
  8. Most improved 1. Skaggs- Change-up has looked really well, curve should come around back in Anaheim Projection- 30 starts, 170 innings 13-7 3.56 Era 2. Heaney- has looked really well, command has been outstanding and has been attacking righties . Projection- 20ish starts, 125 innings 10-4 3.34 era 3. Calhoun- guy has been using the entire field and with a shorter Rf wall, he should have improvement. Projection- 280 18 hrs 90 RBI and 358 OBP 4. Kinsler - what can i say he has been a greedy hitter projection- 274 20 Hrs 60 RBi and 355 Obp with 15 Sb 5. Ohtani (SP)- He's only has had one " real" start so far and was not that bad. The stuff is there and i think is curve has chance to be a plus or at least above average. Projections- 23 starts 155 inings 11-7 3.38 Era Least- 1. Upton- Using his trends, he tends to suck after signing a contract. I do not see that much of decline but a small bit. 268 Avg 28 Hrs 104 Rbi and 349 Obp 2. Brid(SP) - he's been hit pretty hard this spring, I think he make a role for himself in the Bp and becomes a key Guy 3. Thats about it. the others- Richards pitch a full year like a Ace and is in the top 5 for CY young. Shoe!- Will live and die on that Splitter. Bedrock- an all- start calibrate Closer Parker - a little decline but not much Simmons- Finally hits 300 Jc pitches like a number 3 but miss time due to nerve issue Valbuena hits over 200!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........ Hopefully.......................................................
  9. I think he hasn't really played his way on the team but Thasis has opened some eye's, Lamb and Pena are two guys to consider. Cowart hasn't really looked that well and the great Valbuena is making his March towards the 200 avg slash line.
  10. IF we can some how get rid of No-Buena, than i am all for it.
  11. I think we can win around 88- 90 games depending on our pitching rotation's health. But i do believe is that the wildcard this time around will not have 7-8 teams fighting for it. If Stroman is healthy the blue jays are going to be better, I have to give the Edge to the Twins just because they are playing in the weakest division, than i just have this gut feeling that its one of those years for the A's.
  12. I think the reason that the Strike-outs don't really look good is because he never gets into deep counts, how many times last year did we see him in the 5th/6th inning at about 60 pitches? From but I've heard about him when we got him from the O's was he had solid potential ( maybe a 3 in the rotation). a fastball around 92-95, a plus change-up, at-least an average slider and a solid cutter. His only problem was command, so it will be interesting to see how he does next year. So far this is my list for the number 5 consideration- 1. Trop- I like the stuff and he shown success a bit a small sample 2. Jc- really good stuff but need to develop a 3rd pitch against both righties and lefties. 3. Brid
  13. I would rather have Trout back at 3rd, Calhoun at second.
  14. His Curve Ball is one of the better pitches in the game, it's a plus pitch. I agreed with you on the fact that he needs to add a third pitch and i think a cutter would be that pitch. Also, the few change-ups he threw last time out, they looked much better with some good drop compare last year. I think that change is going to be the key for him and so far it's a small sample but it looks good.
  15. Skaggs has actually shown the ability to be a really good pitcher, 2014 he was pitching like a solid number 3 before TJ , in the pass two years we have seen him show the potential of dominates. For example, last year in most of his starts he would be dominating a line-up, than hit a rough pack and allows 4-5 runs in a inning, finally he come back and dominate again. I posted this before on the 3 things he needs to work on before; 1. His mental collapse- too many times have i seen him having a mental collapse when ever he doesn't get a called his way, than next thing you know he has given up 3-5 runs. I didn't watch today game, but i heard he had a mental collapse in the second inning, kinda of disappointing, But hopefully it works out!!!!!!! 2. be more than a two pitch pitcher, even tho the change isn't that good of pitch, i think if he can mix it in with his fastball and 2 seamer it could be a really good pitch for him to have with his fb and Cb. 3. command, command, command!! what else can i say, he needs to have his comman with the FB and Change. He has enough velo on his fastball that he can get it past hitter, he now needs to command that pitch in the 4 quadrants of the strike join, and similarly he needs to throw that change at the bottom of the zone with better command. i said 3, but the 4 one if just my personal view 4. cutter!!- if he can command his change, replace it with a cutter. It'a a pitch that could help him cover the inside against righties and the outside corners against lefties. Would work well with his 2-seamer.
  16. well in other news King Felix got hit in the arm with a line drive.
  17. wow that was some easy and low pressure 93-97.
  18. Ohtani looked a bit stiff to the first 3 hitters, probably do to nerves after that he settled down. He got Phillips to buckel on that curve. this is going to be a fun year.
  19. It's crazy the amount of depth that we have build in the pitching department and including the fact that most of our young guys are a pitch, command or both away from rising thru the system.
  20. You just have to give Credit to billy and Co for the system. One think that may have gone under the radar is how much pitching depth That have build, we have 2 sets of categorized of pitching depth now, 1 that contains the safe bet guys with low ceilings and that the guys with high bust rate what also extremely high upside. 1. Gatto, personally i see need him to develop a third pitch that at least Consistent. If he can still improve i can see him being a number 3 2. For a Bp arm Jewell is in the bottom 30 but as a starter not so much 3. CRod's stuff just jumps out, His Fb to me is an 65 grade pitch right now with a chance to be an 70 grade pitch, Mix it in with a wipe-out slider and a change that has shown flashes of being a plus pitch, than consider the fact he can toss an average curve. He struggled last year, but you have to remember he was going up against guys that were about 4 yrs older than him, There were also a few stats to like; only 144 BB and 2 Hrs allowed. I think next year is still going to be a learning season for him, but i'm excepting better results and by the end of the season he'll start dominating.
