jchalos89 got a reaction from Brent Maguire in AngelsWin.com Today: Simba’s roaring offensive start: Is it real?
With sub par offense, his defensive abilities solely made him one of the best short stops in the league.
He just started his 6th year in MLB and already has 17.7 dWAR, which ranks 70th in the Major League history. He is going to make his mark in this league with his gloves throughout his career. I don't really care if he bats 0.280~290 continuously or his avg drops little bit. Even if he hits like 0.230 and has 5 HRs for entire season, his defense at SS position makes him special and will be very valuable asset for the team.
Odd thing is, the ones that provide good D for the team are also the ones that has been providing O as well (Maldo, Simba, Trout). The ones with no D or awful D (Pujols, Cron, Maybin) can't do shit offensively either. So it's pretty clear who's to keep and who's to dump

jchalos89 got a reaction from Ohtaniland in Gameday Thread: Apr 20th Angels vs Astros
They have millions of dollars of salary so they can pay UA crew and UA will beat up other passengers and drag em out of the plane instead of the Angels

jchalos89 got a reaction from Troll Daddy in Gameday Thread: Apr 20th Angels vs Astros
So Lance McCullers was 1-0, 4.67 in 3 games against Mariners, Royals, and Athletics and he's throwing 5 inning 1 hitter against Angels?
How great

jchalos89 got a reaction from DMVol in Alex Meyer is starting on Friday
We have nothing to lose so giving Meyer a chance is good decision. He's not even young prospect anymore so time to see what he can provide on Major League level

jchalos89 got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Our offense sucks
He is done. He's been pretty much overpaid junk since 2013 season. He has HRs and RBIs but let's be realistic. He's getting all those HRs sacrificing batting avg, with OBP barely over 0.300, and OPS below 0.800 for 5 consecutive seasons. Sosh never took him out of #4 spot, and we have our 3 best hitters in front of him, and he has somebody that reaches on base by 44% of chance, steals base 30 times, and has wheel to score from 1st or 2nd base on any kind of base hit right in front of him. Literally any Major league level player would have gotten big RBI numbers if he has Yunel Escobar, Kole Calhoun, and Mike Trout in front of him and the manager never takes him out of #4 spot even if he bats like 0.200 for entire month. Pujols has 31 HRs and 119 RBIs for 2016 campaign, but with those big numbers, his OPS is 0.780 and WAR is 0.00. That pretty much sums up. His big numbers for HRs and RBIs don't mean anything at this point. He's just hurting this team.

Too much salary wasted on Pujols, Hamilton, and Wilson. Seems like $9M going to Street is going to be waste this year too. There goes around $80M dollars to trashcan. That's why we have been just picking up those midgets that other teams don't wanna sign on the market. Can't expect to have a good team until those burdens go away

4 hits, a walk, a stolen base, and 2 errors by opponent in 3 innings. Yet, this team can't score a run

And of course we can't score off of Herrera :/

jchalos89 got a reaction from Troll Daddy in Gameday Thread: 4/14 Angels @ Royals
Yup. Very unlikely. Calhoun usually saves runs on defensive end but not tonight. Also, JC allowed 1 extra run because Scoscia didn't review Alex Gordon's hit by pitch. If Angels asked for review on that wild pitch, they would have saved another run

I'm so excited for the come back. Still hyper haha. But I am really really happy that players did not give up when it was 3:9 and they had only 1 inning left. They didn't just swing bats super early and died like wtf and wasted an inning like bunch of dummies. They saw a lot of balls, took counts, swung like they are looking to get on base anyhow.
