  1. I remember seeing Damon in the parking lot after a WBC game in Anaheim. Some guy yells out to him..."Johnny, you're the greatest!" Damon stops, smiles and says... "Yes. Yes, I am."
  2. Gave this some more thought... 2018 was especially demoralizing. The Angels started out great... Started out 13-3 and then Boston came to town and destroyed the Angels in 3 straight... 10-1, 9-0, 8-2. It was horrific. Three series' later the Yankees came to town and also swept the Angels... 4-3, 11-1 and 2-1. I was at all six games and the opposing teams' fans were obnoxious as always. That was a hard stretch of games to be a fan. What made that season even worse was losing 2 of 3 in NY and getting swept again in Boston (part of a 6 game losing streak). Final record 80-82, but it felt much, much worse. That 13-3 start was amazing. Baseball was fun and then the rug was pulled out from under us. Just thinking about those Sox/Yankees games now still makes me sick.
  3. I'll tune into another game every now and then just to see a player I'm interested in. I've even made special trips to see players. The late, Jose Fernandez was one I went to see specifically. I watch the post-season, but don't schedule my life around it. Last year, I barely watched any baseball and I didn't want an entire game all year. I'll go to any game to see any team play at an away stadium because I just like visiting other ball parks. In general, I prefer to be at the ball park. Watching games on TV is okay, but not my preference.
  4. Dude... It is straight up annoying when you post this in every thread. Please stop. I believe you can do better than this.
  5. It's already planned. It will be a mask free event and it will be glorious.
  6. 1995 for sure. Losing that tie breaker game against Seattle. Redemption came seven years later, but those were 7 long years. Also... I really thought the Angels were going to win it all in 2005. The whole AJ thing still bugs me a bit. 2014 is another one because the Angels had the best record, Trout, etc. It's not about the expectations I had before the season started, it's about how the season ended.
  7. This reminds me of the kid who keeps asking his parents if he an have a puppy or whatever... They say no. A day later, he asks again. They still say no. Next day... "What about now?" Still no. Then he starts putting conditions on his request... "What if I do more chores?" Still no. Then, it's... "But Johnny just got one." Still no. I think some of you just need to lower your expectations. If by chance the Angels sign him or someone else, you can be pleasantly surprised. It just doesn't seem likely... Minasian has already said he's comfortable with what he has and ST has already started. And no, Lou... the example above isn't about my life!
  8. Homeruns are all well and good, but I have always preferred to watch guys like Rickey Henderson over guys like Mark McGwire.
  9. I don't care if he only hits 10 homers, so long as the Angels win a WS.
  10. You don’t piss off a bear and you don’t shit on one either
  11. Just had a big bowl of Thirty's Black Cherry Ice Cream and it was delicious.
  12. Taylor Ward had a ham sandwich for lunch. What do you think it means?
