Just the way I like it. It's like prospects, hype can be a killer, but being ignored and under-estimated, that can fuel a fire in the right player.
Everyone is writing the Angels off having completely ignored who Nava has been his whole career or what he's been this Spring, along with the natural progression of Trout, Calhoun and Cron. They also write off our pitching staff, having forgotten it wasn't so long ago that Shoemaker was the "in" pitcher with his beard and splitter, or that Santiago was an all-star last year, or that Skaggs has front of the rotation upside and is coming back.
This will make it all the more sweet when we destroy their beloved Rangers, Astros and Mariners. Does anytone remember where we were predicted to finish in 2014 when we won 98 games? Wasn't it like 80 wins?

One glimmer of hope, if you're into that sort of thing - the offensive numbers in Arizona this spring have been way up. Lots of top pitchers with ugly ERAs out there. I still believe Weaver is toast, but results in AZ, particularly this spring for whatever reason, should be taken with a (tiny) grain of salt.

Years as in two? Because if you dislike him more than you disliked Hamilton then I don't know what to say.

BTW his current OBP is .319 in spring.  This is the first time we have seen him swing this freely ever as an Angel and this spring he has been fun to watch.  So yes RBI's are REALLY important for a one dimensional player as he needs to drive in runs more so than just getting on base.

SO will you bash Mike Trout when he turns 36 years old and he can no longer play center field?

There is a huge difference between coaching 1st and coaching 3rd. If players get thrown out by 30 feet on a single trying to stretch to a double it is on the player. When you are rounding first the ball is in front of you, so you can see whether or not to go. When you are rounding 3rd the ball is behind you so you need to look at the third base coach.

Difference is clarity on rules, I would agree he is a clown but in this case if it is stuck then it should have been ruled a double.  Spring Training should be considered MLB Ball Park rules even if played at minor league type ball parks.  I see this as more of an MLB over site when it comes to preparation of it players and umpire staff, they should be using rules associated with Major League ballparks only; not a Cespedes blunder.  BTW - he needs no extra help creating blunders!

Edited:  I looked closer at video and ball did not look stuck at all, just leaning against the fence.

1981 was my first game.  Started going more regularly in 1985.  Was a huge fan of Wally World in 86.  I had every rookie card of his.  Thought he was going to have a long distinguished HOF career.  Obviously that didn't happen, but still had a solid career as a good gap hitter who was smooth around first base.

I went to a Angels Wives vs Dodgers Wives charity softball game at Cal State LA in 86.  Got Fernando's autograph.

Good......We will field a very competitive team this season. Arte will stay out of the way while Eppler and the new coaches will breath new life into the organization.
Bad.....No matter what we will start the season in 2nd place because of the schedule makers.

“He’s a great guy,” center fielder Mike Trout said. “He comes around the clubhouse every day, talks to us. You can joke around with him and tell him anything. That’s how G.M.s should be: Interact with the players, come in and act like part of the team.”
Trout takes a shot at Dipoto.

The more I see him the more I like the kid. He has great poise behind the plate, and has a clean swing. I may go a bit far on this one, but honestly I'd take Bandy over Perez and Soto as the starter. The kid can play..thoughts?

Apparently LaRoche brings his kid in the clubhouse and around the team EVERY SINGLE DAY. White Sox simply requested that he tone it down a bit and honestly it's a reasonable request IMO. I can't imagine a co worker bringing their child to work every day....would drive me crazy.

...so a guy who's career BA is .256 and has only 184 Ks in 2,000 career PAs can't hit his way out of a paper bag?   Coupled with his amazing defense, anything better than that is gravy.  Look at his 15.2 career dWAR.  Plus he's only 26.

His career avg is .256.  56 points above the Mendoza Line.  Only 184 Ks in almost 2000 career PAs.  Not too worried about his offense.  That's not why he was acquired anyways.
