I'm confused is this thread implying that Heaney gives up a lot of runs? He has had 3 starts. Heaney's last start he only gave up 1 earned run in 5.0 innings and his first he gave up 3 earned runs in 6 innings. Those numbers should be even better in my opinion because he has been snake bitten by one pitch in each of his outings. He has looked a lot better than the numbers indicate despite giving up a combined 4 earned runs in 2 of his 3 starts.

IMO, Heaney and Canning have both 'outpitched' their stats this year. They've been showing flashes of brilliance, and keep having a late inning where they get hammered. I'm optimistic on both of them moving forward - you see this kinda thing early on with pitchers, and they are both kinda just starting their year with the Angels recently.

I'm going to predict a solid outing from him. Skaggs set a really great tone last night with his "this is my game" attitude and i think that could rub off. Ill guess maybe 6 IP, no more than 3 ER, and a 6-3 win versus Aaron Sanchez who a lot of our guys have hit VERY well against.
Feel free to insert the bigfoot i believe image here if you wish but i have a good feeling about this. It could be wishful thinking but i believe this team needs a run and this is when they need it so this needs to happen, maybe i can will it isnt happening

Hindsight is, of course, 20/20, but does anyone else feel like we didn't give him nearly as much of a chance as we should have? I thought this at the time, and he has turned into an above average first baseman since leaving.
