4.5 MiLB seasons plus 4 college seasons and still limited MLB experience = not exactly the greatest of resumes.
Such a stupid pick. And the draft room celebration makes it all the more pathetic.

Yes. He’s easily better. Also, the trade would be worth it because we get 3 years of Stripling, who’s a pretty good starting pitcher. Add the fact that we get another solid prospect in return, I think it’s a really good deal for us if the prospect we send back is not one of our top ones.

New wrinkle just reported. This makes some sense as well, but might make having the arbitration determining the prospect less likely.

Cesar Hernandez
I like that one too.

Macier Izturis played in 759 Games over parts of 8 seasons for the Angels. 2792 PA, 2506 AB. 360 Runs and 692 hits. 141 2B, 15 3B, 33 HR. 297 RBI, 87 SB, 28 CS. 228 SO 293 BB
.276 / .339 / .384 / .723 OPS
12.5 WAR.
Ok so maybe he's a slightly better Macier Izturis. Maybe Izturis with pop.
Segura isn't really that good either. I thought his numbers were way better.
Good point. He's a good player, but he's not other worldy. That's why when my friend said it, I just brushed him off. But after analyzing it more and looking at the underlying stats, I realized it wasn't a terrible comparison.

^^^ this is why it's a good idea to finish reading the thread before responding, folks
When I responded, it said Cesar. I was typing my post while it changed I believe. I did figure it could have been a mistake though, so no worries.

Cesar Izturis had a career OPS+ of 64.
That was just a god awful comparison. No offense, @Hubs
If he meant his slightly less retarded brother, Macier, that would make more sense.

I believe he will be better than that, but then again I could be underestimating Cesar.
You're not. Cesar was trash. Rengifo already has almost caught up to Cesar in career WAR at age 22.
Rengifo should be a solid 2-3 WAR player a year with full playing time. I don't think he will be as good as Segura, but I think it's a good comparison if he maxed out on his potential.

He's just about to turn 23 - I think he's gonna be pretty good. Segura? Hmm - I can actually see that ....
I know what you mean - when a Dodgers fan says "we suck", I'm conflicted on whether or not I should agree with them.
Yea...I like Refigno, but I like the deal more. It addresses a need, while Refigno doesn't really have place right now. I always thought Refigno was going to be a solid player. I didn't think how solid until my friend mentioned Segura. My intial reaction was "this guy is bat shit". Then I thought about it...and it's actually possible. I won't tell him that.

Would you guys be willing to make the trade much more substantial and get both Maeda and Stripling? Say, Rengifo, Adams, and Chris Rodriguez for Pederson, Stripling, Maeda and Pages?
I would pass. Maeda is good but I don’t think he moves the needle enough for us to add more prospects when we still have a developing farm. It’s probably a fair trade, but I just don’t think Maeda is the type of pitcher this team needs. We still need an ace type starter to be able to flop out our dicks out on the table with confidence.

So I wasn’t the only one unhappy about the Paxton injury. Cool.

Replace Andreise with Canning and you're onto something
Whoops!! What was thinking!? Brain poop. Added.

Ohtani, Stripling, Teheran, Bundy, Heaney, Sandoval, Canning, Andreise.
That's a lot of solid pitching. Not high upside pitching (other than Ohtani) but it's a staff that should be able to keep us in games and it's enough depth to withstand some injuries or rest periods for the young guys.

Stripling is pretty damn solid, so I am happy we will be getting him. He's just really damn solid, regardless of role. The question is, what will we be giving up..

still nothing ??

My boner is going down. Give us stuff.

Stripling or Gonsolin. I will take.
Pederson/Stripling deal is DEAD. MOVE ON.

No offense, but I think this guy is going to be worthless as a major league ball player.
I’m going to be wrong, huh??
