Pittsburgh is a small-market team. We are not. There's no excuse for the ongoing failures with this franchise.
Arte should sell the team and enjoy his billions. Then get a real GM with a real rebuilding plan.

Big loss for the Halos as they move ahead of Seattle for 2nd worst record in MLB. Doubt they can pass up the Pirates for worst team in baseball but you can't discount this team's ability to try

Seattle won today, so the Halos are officially dead last in the American League.   The only MLB Team doing worse is the Pirates, and they're only one game further under .500 than the Angels.

Adell overmatched here in a big way.

Disjointed lineup, force feeding Adell before he's ready for solid food, Rengifo probably not ready, Trout with the power but average slipping with a lot of K's. Ohtani MIA.
Horrible RISP and AVG with bases loaded. Tons of LOB.
Then there's the $50 million tied up in Upton and Pujols.
Oh, and most of the pitchers who suck.

Hey Eppler, all 3 A’th relievers have sub 2.50 ERA!
    What’s your problem?
This franchise is a total mess.
    Thanks Arte!

Heaney ALMOST made it through 5 innings. It took 97 pitches to get to 4.2.

Well good thing about Adell is that he has Brought his K rate down to 44%. Slight improvements!

Angels came into today 28th in MLB in BA with RISP. That inning just helped them pad their stat

I would have rather had that one more year of Howie than the six we got of Heaney.

It’s going to take a miracle to make this team competitive in the short term.

I've watched every game this season and will probably continue to, don't see the reason for your comment. I was mainly commenting on the lack of heart this team has shown us, no reason for fans to turn on each other

Only took 27 games for us to skip a game day thread. Is that a record?

When the first pitch is at Trout's face and the second pitch is behind his head there are pretty decent odds a guy is throwing at someone. Sure maybe Longoria isn't the player he used to be but he is the most recognizable name on that roster and that pitch he took to the ribs earlier looked quite painful. Now you have a young guy just hanging on to a job in MLB trying to be a good teammate and score points in the clubhouse by defending their team leader.
Anderson hits about 1 batter for every 50+ innings he's thrown in the big leagues... In the few times in my playing days that I hit someone in the head or nearly hit someone in the head my first reactions were shock, fear, and concern. Yesterday the camera cut back to Anderson's face and the look he had was something I could only describe as anger or preparing himself for a fight.
There is no doubt in my mind it was intentional, and that doesn't have to mean that the pitcher had a good reason for it. All you have to do is look at the Fernando Tatis situation to see how low the average IQ is around baseball.

It's incredibly fortunate for Anderson he was only throwing at the head of Mike Trout.....I can't imagine the severity of the suspension from MLB if it was an Astro batter.

See, it was all just a big misunderstanding. No need to get all fired up and retaliate by going on a long winning streak or anything silly like that.

True but it never happens. I guess it's cool that the greatest player in the game plays in an Angel uniform but there is nothing to show for it though. This team has been so brutal to watch that it takes the joy out of watching Trout play. To be honest I'm pissed at the org for making it like that.

It’s very easy to play GM on the internet but just remember that this team doesn’t have the trade chips or the money to bring in championship quality starting pitchers. Teams want your top prospects and your best cost controlled players in return. We don’t have much of those to give. Also keep in mind that they have $116M tied up on 4 players next season and 2 of them are toast. That leaves them $70M to pay the other 22 guys needed to fill the roster. Now throw in another $24M-$28M for a top notch starter and what’s left? Oh and we need to get at least 2 starters.

I have been on this planet for 40 years and have also been a fan of the Angels for as long as I remember. It is time to trade Mike Trout. This man has no business being restricted by the Angels organization. He is an 8 time All Star, he has accumulated the Silver Slugger award no less than seven times and has also won the MVP during the 2014, 2016 and 2019 seasons all while being apart of an organization that has only made the playoffs once in his career as a Major League Baseball player. The Angels haven't had a winning season since 2015 and in that span have only won 391 out of 810 regular season games (not including 2020).
In the sport of baseball the great players are remembered not only for their personal accolades but also for the success of their team, especially during the postseason. The Angels organization has robbed Mike Trout and baseball fans of the latter. While I don't doubt the intentions of this club to win and provide their fans with a successful team they have proved over and over again throughout the years that they are not capable of arranging a supporting group of teammates to allow the league's most talented player to excel in the playoffs. It pains me as a fan of the game to see the greatest player since Babe Ruth have his career marginalized by an incompetent front office who can't put together a pitching staff that any softball beer league couldn't take behind the wood shed to severely punish. It is an embarrassment that such a product is displayed in Southern California, a region which is considered to be the "Mecca" of baseball recruitment. It makes me question my devotion to this team and it also negatively influences how much time and money I spend following a persistently underachieving ball club.
For the TL/DR crowd I'll summarize my diatribe. Sell Mike Trout soon while he's still worth top dollar. This team is going nowhere with its pitching for the foreseeable future and in its current form is one of the worst teams in baseball.

    Pujols is toast
    Upton is toast
    Shohei is naked and afraid
    Simmons is declining
    Adell is not ready
    Pitching is a complete disaster
Trout must be really disappointed in Eppler.
