  1. I'm not enough of a fan to glean through all the history of the players, but I love Conger's swing. All-time? I think Edmonds' and Guerrero's were always nice.
  2. Yanks aren't as strong as they used to be. I say we sweep them and take two from Texas.
  3. I agree. Blaming this on Reagins is ridiculous. Look how long he's been gone.
  4. It's funny how these things only come up when he goes 0-fer. I didn't hear anything when he hit the two homers.
  5. What's worse is that this has been a known issue for years now and we just can't seem to get this fixed. Frieri is a good pitcher, but he should be taken out of the closer's spot. These streaks of his kill the fans' morale and I don't know what it does to his teammates. I really think this is a good team if we can just fix this issue.
  6. OK, I think it will be off someone in the Texas series. I think he'll hit 499 vs. the Yanks on Saturday.
  7. Not sure yet, but had to say this is a really good idea for a thread.
  8. I'd say another month. We got him in a trade so he doesn't have the same oomph of a free agent acquisition. If Stewart or Green get hot, Freese would get less playing time. It's more of a problem with some of our key guys out so I don't think we give him any more time than that.
  9. I can undersatnd the pressures of a free agent, but trades too? So pretty much anyone that moves to another team feels pressure? I'm not disparaging your thought, and it may be indeed be valid, but I find the idea headshaking.
  10. Stick with Freese for now. Have to give a guy a chance, especially with his track record.
  11. I have a feeling we'll take two from the Nats, but will traed water the rest of the month. I think we'll get our heads above water in May.
  12. And what position is that? The bullpen is the main problem. Yes, we need to rebuild the minor leagues, but it's not like we're the Cubs.
  13. Uh, is this April or June? I guess all chess players become grandmasters in a couple of weeks.
  14. I'm not crucifying him, but I disagree with your "reaction" theory. He's not a puma or monkey, he's a person. That means he can learn from his mistake. Just because he's an aggressive athlete doesn't mean he has to play without any sense. It's the same with him laying off a high fastball. You know you shouldn't do it, so don't.
  15. Green is probably in AAA mostly because of his defensive problems.
  16. It could also be pride or stubbornness. He may not want to announce to the world that it was a dumb or rash move so in this way he saves some face. I'd be surprised if he ever did it again.
  17. What is the difference in doing it at first vs. other bases? Is there the same potential for injury?
  18. Just heard about this ten minutes ago. Had to come by to take the heat when I said that he would only be out a week. This is horrible.
  19. The kid looks good. He's got a lot of weapons to make our guys look silly.
  20. I bet he's fine. I'd be surprised if he's out a week.
