  1. Not making excuses but 1) the team as a whole hasn't really hit and 2) how much credit should be given to the Ms pitching? Even though they finally lost, the A's didn't score much either.
  2. Probably, but it depends on what changes were made during the season. As the team stands now, I think we should make the playoffs.
  3. Interesting replies. I wanted to know because most of us were hesitant to go with these guys in the rotation and wanted at least one other veteran. I wanted to know if they happened to be somewhat successful, would that change anyone's minds.
  4. If we won the World Series this year with Santiago, Richards, and Skaggs winning 12 games each during the season, would you want to make any changes regarding them in the rotation?
  5. I can't seem to find much information about him. Was this just another minor league filler? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Martinez_(baseball)
  6. I don't understand this. According to this recent article, we have Saunders. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/ana/richard-justice-tyler-skaggs-could-be-the-key-to-the-angels-season?ymd=20140304&content_id=68711042&vkey=news_ana
  7. http://losangeles.angels.mlb.com/news/article/ana/bernie-pleskoff-angels-prospect-taylor-lindsey-boasts-immense-offensive-potential?ymd=20140226&content_id=68346690&vkey=news_ana I have some questions re this article. 17 homers in the Texas League. Is this that big a deal? How does Lindsey compare to big leaguers that hit that many when they were there? Just wondering if he's really a viable replacement for Kendrick.
  8. Definitely. Why do you think this team is better?
  9. I'm worried, to tell you the truth. I know the team can do well if the starters handle themselves, but generally I go into the season hyped up, thinking the Angels have the upper hand. I do not like feeling like this and I haven't felt like this in a while. I just wish we had a better rotation.
  10. I think letting Williams go could turn out to be a bigger blunder than getting Blanton.
  11. Despite the article, I have trouble believing that Dipoto won't find another pitcher. EVERYONE knows we need at least one and so does he. If we go into the start of the season like this and Skaggs makes the team, but struggles, then Dipoto has to take major heat. Like the Blanton deal, this is like seeing a meteor coming toward the earth. A disaster in plain sight.
  12. Well, I haven't changed mine and I'm part of that group. However, since I have no control over the roster, I can only hope this will be enough although I think Dipoto/Arte are making a big mistake in not getting at least one more starter and reliever.
  13. What if the team tailor (or whatever you call him/her) created the number accidentally and the player wore it? Fireable offense?
  14. Maybe this is true, but I get annoyed reading this. Are the Angels that bad an organization that players don't think we'll win soon or think that it's badly run? Players, more than any other baseball men, should know how hard it is to win. Just because Trout jumps to the Yanks or Phils doesn't mean he's going to get a ring. If he leaves, it will be because of the money more than anything else.
  15. I don't use this phrase often, but that sucks for the player.
  16. And the Ms have already solidified their offense. They no longer need him.
  17. So he will have to wait 'til June under storm's scenario?
  18. Ugh. June? Can't see that happening. I guess you reap what you sow. Will a team be willing to sign him to an extremely low salary and lose the pick?
  19. Cute. I've always liked Grover and Sesame Street.
  20. As it is right now, I think the pitching would have to be really spot on in order for the offense to take over. What I mean is if the five currently installed as the rotation stay from beginning to end and don't get hurt, I think we have enough offense to get to the playoffs. However, with three young guys and health to worry about, I don't like those odds. I hope everything falls in place, but as the staff is right now, that's asking a lot of the offense.
  21. I think you should have listed more "grey" options to get a better idea of what people think. I think we're a contender, but there are several question marks. I'm still not sold on the starters nor the bullpen.
