  1. Baylor was a free agent and didn't stay that long on the Angels.
  2. I still believe we have time to get back in the playoff picture. However, these series against the dregs of the AL West will be crucial. Out of the 13 games, we need to win at least 8, preferably 9 (or more, of course).I think the only series this month that was a downer was against the Yanks. We shouldn't have been swept. 12.5 games back is nothing to laugh at, but if we can get it to 8 by the end of the month I think we have plenty of time to make a run.
  3. So why give up on him so quickly? Was he bad in AAA also?
  4. If he were willing to try relieving, I would sign him to a 1-year contract. I know he doesn't throw hard, but I wonder, as a starter, does he still pace himself in games? If so, he could "let it loose" as a reliever he may be successful.
  5. So what do you think he'll do?
  6. Do you think he's the real deal? I don't know anything about him. Do you think we have a diamond in the rough, a David Ortiz perhaps?
  7. So many of you are down on Weaver. I'd like to know what you think since this is his last year before free agency. Do you think he'll re-sign as a starter? Re-sign as a reliever? Go to another team as a starter? Retire?
  8. I'm still hopeful that they can turn it around. I think they have the talent and heart.
  9. I still believe in this team. We were swept, but we were in all of the games.
  10. I read that this seems to work about 50 per cent of the time. Any thoughts on the therapy and how you think Richards and Heaney will fare?
  11. I saw those pitches to Escobar and Trout. No way were those strikes. I didn't see Smith's pitches to Trumbo though. Sad, but these games happen.
  12. ...the Halos aren't doing that badly. They've had a bunch of injuries and are still pretty much in the pack. There are only about 6 team in the majors that you can say are doing really well and even fewer really bad ones. Everyone else is a few games above or under .500, and I would put us in that category. Much too early to give up, but we still need another bat. Let's see how we do now that Ortega has returned.
  13. I was hoping to catch a video of it, but this is all I found.
  14. At least they hit yesterday. Weaver didn't do his job.
  15. I didn't read anything about an injury on the Angels' site.
  16. Nate, did you look at those scores from Apr. 23 - May 4? I don't think it's much too be proud of.
  17. I doublechecked when you wrote that and figure you must be talking about from April 23 to May 4. And yes, I don't see that close to a tear.
  18. I'm saying the pitching is not the main enemy. We're getting pretty good relief right now and most games we're not blown out.
  19. Nate, I just looked at our games and I see less than a week when you can say they were "on a tear." May 1 - 9 runs, 2nd - 5, 3rd - 4 4th - 7. That's it. Compare that with the pitching and we had a lot better games from them.
  20. 2 weeks? I will have to look that up because I don't recall that. They are going against mediocre pitching and making them look Cy Young.
  21. Perhaps our pitchers are too tight knowing they have to be perfect?
  22. The Angels' main philosophy must be H.I.T.T.I.N.G.
