Baylor gets a free pass. These guys know how to hit. They let Vargas off the hook yesterday. Most of the blame goes to tthe hitters with a little going to Scioscia for the Calhoun bunt.
True, we'll never know, but they were in first place with a comfortable lead before the trade. I think those who say the trade cost the a's are much more likely to be correct than the "statheads."
Is anyone concerned? Of course, none of us can do anything about it. But I thought Shields got some strike calls that were pretty shaky and that was the small amount of time I watched that game.
Yost. He knows his team doesn't hit that well and they have to utilize their speed. Scioscia will only do that against a "traditional" tough pitcher. He won't see that in this series unless you can't count Shields.
True, Adam. But KC really doesn't have much going for them except their speed and bullpen. They don't hit or pitch extraordinarily well.
They'll have to contain our offense and on the road for the most part.
I don't think KC beats Oakland if the game isn't in KC.
