  1. The Angels' main philosophy must be H.I.T.T.I.N.G.
  2. No, we need offense. I don't think there's anything more demoralizing than losing these types of games. How much you bet they score for Weaver, who seems to loathe when the team doesn't "back him up"?
  3. He kept us in the game. We left too many people on base. Quick! What was the last game we scored more than 2 runs?
  4. Maybe Shoe still has some kinks, but we left a lot of baserunners. Maybe management should try to get one more decent bat in the lineup rather than being so concerned with the rotation. It looks like a good thing they got rid of Choi, but Nava really has to start doing something to justify his at-bats.
  5. Why do you want to give up so quickly? I don't understand this negative mentality. We're not a small market team and this is May.
  6. My gut is against this, not because I dislike Aybar, but what happens when Simmons returns. Trade him again? Aybar is no backup. It would seem like a contentious situation and then we would have to give up MORE players?
  7. I enjoyed the beginning of what you wrote, but then it started to sound like next year would be forgotten also. That doesn't sit right with me.
  8. I just don't see the sense in rebuilding when you have Trout and some others on the team. More like retooling. I don't want to throw in the season, at least not yet. If we can get some offensive help from dumpster diving, I still have faith that we can stay in the race.
  9. I really think it depends on if we get any offensive help. I appreciate Simmons, but we can do without his bat.
  10. I understand that he didn't/doesn't want to spend big bucks, but it his team. Does he want to see it in the toilet? He doesn't have to spend a "lot of money" to make it respectable. Anyone can see we're in dire straits now. In doing nothing, I think he embarrasses himself.
  11. I don't know, Flop. I would say this gives them an excuse to spend. Losing so much pitching needs to be offset by something, preferably pitching since it's all but impossible to make up the quality of pitching we lost. So logically we need more bats to score more runs for the extra runs that we'll give up. If we get nothing, you have to wonder what Arte is trying to do.
  12. Why are you guys so bent on having a disastrous season?! Obviously, we can afford to pick up someone or two even if it's not feasible to do any trading. still think the season is salvageable.
  13. According to the latest OC podcast, the hosts believe Nava should get some time to get acclimated while allowing Ortega to hit regularly in AAA. Then they both could be assessed at the same time. I guess it makes sense, but should we give Gia and Cron the same leeway?
  14. It seems to me that offense covers more weaknesses than pitching. Even our mediocre pitching isn't atrocious. We should not get swept by Tampa Bay at home when we were in all three games.
  15. I don't understand. Why give up on the season so quickly? I think we need some help offensively. If we can stay in the hunt until some of our pitchers return, why not try to make a deal if it betters the team?
  16. I really don't fault Moreno for getting Hamilton, but it just didn't work out.
  17. So therefore Eppler shouldn't be to blame.
  18. I think Eppler needs to focus on offense. Even our piecemeal pitching has been enough to keep us in games. Like I said, if they're going to invest in Choi he should be playing regularly to see if he's worth keeping. There has to be a way to upgrade the offense. What are there, five solid spots - Trout, Pujols, Calhoun, Escobar, and Simmons? There are four spots to play with that can be improved.
  19. How could he be blamed for all the injuries? And is Arte behind the non-spending during the winter?
  20. I'm not ready to write off the season because of these injuries. If the team hits, we can stay in it. I question the Ortega move, but since they've done it play Choi so they can see if he has a real future with the team.
  21. Hi Chuck, It doesn't seem as colorful as before. I haven't looked into any new additions this one might have yet though.
