I don’t think that they will through the 1st 30 games. I’m just hoping that they can win enough games for the season to not be over by the end of May. If they can just stay afloat and avoid serious injuries i think that maybe we can be hopeful that the team will play at better then .500 ball. At that point hopefully we have Ohtani and Upton back in action every day and hopefully we’ve seen some of the youngsters produce.

I thought the Angels bullpen was low key very good coming into the season. So far so good on that. Hopefully it holds up.

Well Calhoun isn’t good. So maybe.

I’m not worried about Bour. It’s only been a week. I think he’s probably pressing a little bit with the new team. If anything he appears to be over selective. Which is fine, much better then wild stupid hacks and terrible AB’s. We need Bour to get on bash and mash dongs. I remain confident he’ll do both. LaStella is a fine bench player, for now he’ll have to be more for the Angels. I think putting him in the 6 spot isn’t great. Either bat him 9 or bat him lead off. The one redeeming quality of his bat is a supposed ability to get on base. Let him get on for Trout. Every game that Cozart plays convinces me further that Eppler made a big mistake with him. Not good at all. And he still hasn’t brought his fu*cking burro around. Which is disappointing.

It’s a pretty solid luxury to have Mike Trout.

I think I’d fall into the nut swinger category if you asked weatherwonk. I try to objective about the team and do think the team has things going on that trend positively. But there’s also several things that I’ve posted about that I guess are critical. Overall I think I’m cautiously optimistic. But I’m not full on convinced the team is going to be a lot closer to winning a World Series or even the division in 2021 or 2022. I see those dates thrown around a lot. It seems to me that a lot has to go right and the Angels need to acquire some significant additional pieces to make that happen. Possible. We’ll see.

I don’t think so, I think being open to talk like this and share his feelings is actually pretty healthy. I’m sure the Angels are giving him whatever support he needs. its normal to feel lost sometimes.

Great article. It’s cool that he was willing to open up about all of it. I know a lot of us bitch about the injuries. It’s frustrating. But as evidenced by this article it’s X10 for these guys. I hope Heaney can get something going that works for him and is back in the Angels rotation soon. The Angels pitching is a lot better when Heaney is in the mix.

Bour is not even in the same stratosphere of bad that Chris Davis is.

All I’m saying is, someone paid for the tickets. Whether it’s scalpers of fans who knows. I’m sure a decent number of them are scalpers. I’ve bitched here before about how many people sell their seats when the Dodgers and Yankees come around. There was a lot of enthusiasm and excitement at the stadium last year in April. With Ohtani and the nice start, that stuff makes a difference. Anyway, it is what it is. Just a little good news gets people out.

We just have to hope they don’t get completely buried in the first month of the season. I think once Ohtani is back and if 2nd and 3B can be settled to some degree they’ll be decently competitive. Its real tough to have any optimism right now though.

I think Goodwin is alright. He’s was a pretty decently regarded prospect just last year. The guy has tools. And he has shown some ability to hit at the major league level. He’s a good player to have around. Far better then Bourjous.
