Eppler deserves criticism for essentially ignoring the offense. I’m 100% happy to give him credit for the many great things he’s done for the Angels. But he’s been wildly bad about the offense. He’s never said anything other then bullshit about how he’s “comfortable” with the line up.
This is a bad hitting team. It was a bad hitting team last year and the year before. Ohtani is one player. He hasn’t done nearly enough when there have been plenty of good major league hitters available. It’s not good at all.
Also, one can acknowledge that the farm system has some exciting players approaching the big leagues. While also understanding that there’s no way the farm is going to plug all of the holes this line up has. The Angels FO has fuc*ked this up in the near term. Good prospects coming up or not.
