He wasn't a good hitter last year either. He's either injured or not hitting well the last two seasons...When is he going to follow up his solid 2011 campaign?

He's proven nothing to me this year. People will point out in the offseason that he has hit around .300 in his tiny sample size of at bats - don't let that fool you though. Guy has a OBP below .310 for his career. He is not special.

Trade him before he goes back to being the .220 hitter he was last year. Could get some good pitching prospects for him.

Because that's the best pick we could realistically get at this point.

The vibe I got is that Scioscia is gone, and Dipoto is on a very short leash. I could be wrong, just didn't feel like he went out of his way to defend either of them.

We've been destined for a 90 loss season since April. This team has been consistently so terrible this year. My prediction: 69-93 I think they'll threaten the franchise record for most losses in a season. Gotta factor in that we have to play the Rays 7 more times, the Rangers 7 more times, and the A's 6 more times. That is brutal. We'll probably go 5-15 in those 20 games if we're lucky.

I agree with the OP. We will not win shit until we have a new coaching staff in place. Obviously our GM and owner have made crappy decisions, but it just doesn't matter with this AA coaching staff.

This is probably the worst team I've ever followed on an every day basis. The fact that this a 150 million dollar payroll is even more of a joke. Scioscia, Butcher, Dipoto all need to be fired immediately after the season ends. Get Pujols ready for next year, build a bullpen, dangle Aybar, Kendrick, Trumbo, Bourjos, etc. to grab cheap, cost controlled starters.

Trout would win neither of those awards. They need to have a "Mike Trout" award given to the best all around player. Trout would certainly be deserving of that.

Sosh is such an idiot. He should be kissing Trout's ass. Trout is the only thing that makes me watch this team. I can't see Trout wanting to stay with this shit show.

This season was over the second Arte Moreno and Jerry Dipoto chose Josh Hamilton over Anibal Sanchez.

Honestly, this guy is just not good enough at what he does to be the guy in charge. He seems like a smart guy in interviews and everything, but his track record is just...wow. Reagins ****ed the whole organization up with the Wells trade, and the way he neglected the farm system. All Dipoto has done is make things worse...much worse. The Blanton move might not even be his worst move. He gave up a cost controlled, now dominant reliever in Jordan Walden for damaged goods Tommy Hanson (partly blame Butcher for not ever getting great results with Walden). Everything this guy does just ****s this organization up even more...he does not deserve to keep his job after this. He had his chance to rebuild the team a little at the deadline, but he decided to sit on his hands aside from trading Callaspo. Why should we reward this guy by giving him the offseason? History says he'll only make it worse. It took Arte 4 years to fire Reagins...he needs to learn from that and fire Dipoto already.

We might be a 110+ loss team if it weren't for Trout. No hyperbole. Without that guy, this is probably one of the worst teams in baseball history. Sweet job Dipoto, Scioscia, Butcher,Moreno, etc.

Yeah, Cron is looking like a poor man's Mark Trumbo at this point. Every time I see him play I come away thinking he's going to be a replacement level (AAAA) player at the MLB level. Very unimpressive skill set.

Never seen him pitch, but so far he's got 11 walks in 12.1 innings. I know he's young and it's only the Arizona league but should we be worried at all?

Walden for Hanson, Segura for Greinke, Hamilton, Pujols (Arte), ignoring the bullpen in 2012 and not fully addressing it this year, Chatwood for Iannetta, Frieri sucks also. He has been HORRIBLE, and seemingly gets worse with every move he makes. I don't understand the free passes some people give this guy. I'm all for blaming Sosh, Butcher, and Moreno but Dipoto is just as awful if not worse

We need a 2 starter in the worst way for next year. Ideally, our rotation will look like this: Weaver 2 starter (trade/FA) Wilson Vargas Richards Not sure you can be a WS contender with Wilson as your 2 and Vargas as your 3. If they're your 3 and 4 though, we can absolutely compete for a title.
