  1. Just checking in… did all the hot dog vendors get a proper introduction too?
  2. Yeah, that sounds pretty accurate. I think with good health and a couple things going our way this team could approach 90 wins.
  3. I know nothing about Molly Knight. Why do people have such strong opinions about her? Is it just related to the Bauer thing, or is there like a history?
  4. Agreed, but even then the first steps are establish supply chains, secure supply chains, and supply supply chains up to the point of forward progress. Competent planning, training, and communication would kinda ensure that you'd think. Hard to consider them a "superpower" if they can't gas up their equipment or make sure ammo/munitions are available.
  5. Could be pretty close, excepting Romine for Stassi. I really hope Upton isn't an everyday player for us though. No problem with him getting some starts against LHers or coming off the bench to pinch hit, but I'd prefer the majority of his ABs and like all of his time in LF go to Marsh/Adell at this point.
  6. This is honestly the part that baffles me. Like it's one thing to fuck up supplies and logistics if you're attacked by another entity by surprise, but during a PLANNED invasion? That's either wild incompetence, pure apathy, or intentional sabotage at a leadership/planning level. And it isn't an "unprepared for modern warfare" thing either. Military leaders have been successfully planning invasions/military campaigns for, you know, a few millenniums at this point. And having the stuff needed to operate as a functional fighting force is the most basic, crucial of all the planning tasks in a situation like this. If the leadership of the military seriously couldn't see any of these issues coming, then that's like profoundly embarrassing. It honestly makes me think that the leadership either really doesn't give a shit, or that they've been cooking the books on supply/logistics capabilities for a long time, and those chickens are finally coming home to roost. Given what I know about late-Soviet era Russia, I'd suspect the latter, but who knows.
  7. He's gonna play in June. Says he likes to start the season slow.
  8. Chris Davis's career was so f-ing weird. BTW, he made $115M during those five years, with another $23M coming to him spread over time as deferred money.
  9. Don't get me wrong, I like the signing, but this is the sort of move that's really helpful for a team that is already good for 90-ish wins. For us, it's just a decent pickup that probably doesn't change the overall success of the team much.
  10. They aren't far apart in terms of production and age, but I'd probably choose Montas. Dude has sick stuff.
  11. No doubt that's a great deal for him. Honestly expected him to land somewhere in the 2-3/30-40 range.
  12. Expensive Someday Maybe Train to Bakersfield says hi.
  13. 5.87 ERA last year... then again, his WHIP was 1.65, so it appears he does actually suck.
  14. I don’t remember where, but I read something about a lot of the Russian military’s logistical issues being caused by a combo of senior military officials skimming funds/resources off the top for personal gain and then just telling Putin what he wanted to hear during the planning stages of this operation… both of which would be the most Russian thing ever.
  15. And that’s an almost best case scenario for Russia.
  16. PM setting the tone early so you guys temper your expectations. Sure, we could’ve probably got a young guy with at least one identifiable tool for half the money, but then you guys would start wanting more out of management, and nobody wants to create wild expectations of competence.
  17. Yeah, hard to see how they'd have a leg to stand on. Given the investigation/legal outcome a suspension would basically just be kink-shaming the dude at this point.
