I'd prefer Gordon. Lead off guy with track record. Stolen bases. Another guy to get in front of Trout. While not "the" piece, he is A piece.

I am pretty sure we all know that Franklin and Pennington aren't our long term 2nd basemen.  So who in your mind do you think will be our guy going into next season?  Do you think they will trade for one between now and the trade deadline, or sign a free agent?  I guess technically they could do both.  I just have a hunch the Angels will make a move for Dee Gordon.  It might be centered around a guy like Cowart and the Angels taking on more of the contract if not all of it.  It would be acquiring a guy in his prime that should be pretty good for the next few years while not giving up too much.  It would also mean that you have one position covered, gives you another top of the order hitter, which leaves you options for left field next year, not needing that person be a lead off hitter.  I really like Cowart, but I would at least understand a trade like this.

the orioles would probably entertain offers for this underrated second baseman . . .

Dee Gordon is worlds better than what we currently have at 2nd base or have had in quite some time. I'd take him for fringe prospects if they are truly looking for salary relief.

Always a bit leery about guys who have been innings monsters from early in their careers even if they are still young.  Jose is 8th in innings from 2013.  
Just hard to bet on guys like that not hitting a wall.

Some of you are so full of sh*t.  You guys honestly expect us to believe that you would ok with tearing this team down and the subsequent losing seasons that go along with it?  We're currently at .500 and 1 game out of a playoff spot and you're going batshit crazy.  
The astros won a TOTAL of 162 games over a 3 year period. They finished 40, 42 and 45 games out of first place.
There is no way in hell you guys would be content with that.
