trout at lead off was more fun. i mean, if we're going to keep missing the playoffs, we might as well have more fun during the regular season, which trout at lead off better helps ensure.

Love this kind of statistical breakdown. Thanks alot! I simply draw from this - if you have a flawed team, a solid bullpen is huge. We have a severely flawed team, even within the SP core, and our bullpen wasn't that good either. I still have high hopes for this pen though, with the likes of Gott, Rasmus and Morin.

This was a rollercoaster season. I actually liked this team, more than even last year's team or 2012. Those teams should have made the world series, and the 2012 should have easily won the WS with grienke and weaver in his prime. This team shouldn't have been anywhere close to sniffing the playoffs. They were completely damaged goods. Their offense sucked, the pitching was suspect, no one stepped us an ace, the bullpen was an adventure (with guys like Street calling out the team and then himself choking in 2 huge games), and the drama that surrounded the team since day 1 with the hamilton incident and later DiPoto. This was a straight up soap opera season but with ugly people. You kinda gotta love it. We need much better "pre-production" planning for the next episode.

Next year we need to learn to play cleaner more efficient baseball. Too many mistakes this year and really over the last few scioscia years.

I feel bad. Our guys played their asses off this month and gave every fan what we want. Now we need to rely on a shit team like the dbacks. We dont have as much talent as the othet teams, but i really think that losing freese and johnny G for august was what doomed us. Those guys have been great since coming back and it really intorms on some of the things we need to do for next yeAr

i think we're in trouble. the likely scenario is we split in texas, and houston wins 2 of 3 in Arizona. The only hope I think we have is houston drops 2 out of 3 in the desert.

richards is a good pitcher. i don't know why people are worried about whether he is an ace or not. he is a solid 2, or a 3 at worst, and the #1 slot will get filled by heaney and/or newcomb. we have bigger problems, like the fact we've basically never developed a great reliever since krod, our positional talent is a joke, our overseas scouting sucks, we might have internal issues, and the organization from a third party perspective, just isn't one of the top tier companies in the game. We're that company with a 2.5 rating on glassdoor. The Giants and Cards are like the silicon valley of the game, with a 4.5 rating and employees who love their jobs.

Seattle kicking Texas' ass again. Can we maybe redeem ourselves vs the Astros, and hopefully someone can pitch with the guts that Richards pitched with yesterday? This isn't a very good team but we can still make the playoffs. Can you imagine if we get to go to NYY for the WC game - their fans would be SO worried, considering the Angels history vs. the Yanks.

Kubitza has looked like a butcher in the field so far. I am not very excited about him, but I think he we need to play him out a bit more next year to be sure.
