  1. Ibanez is from nyc, he doesn't talk like that
  2. Six man rotations would be a good solution Miss all the junk throwing pitchers from back in the day
  3. the nationals look absolutely lifeless and uninspired. we need to go ahead and sweep them tomorrow.
  4. Freese doesnt like baseball anymore, dude is more interested in partying
  5. That was pathetic. Conger especially. That dude doesnt look like he takes this seriously. Reminds me of my roomate in college.
  6. This was an entertaining albeit frustrating series, with a great finish. Observing Oakland, I gotta say - that team is tough. It seemed like every sharply ball we hit was gobbled up by their corner infielders, and that their outfielders could get to everything (Gentry almost catching that Ianetta walk off homer was a good example). Every at bat was very calculated as well. I remember how Jaso just broke down Frieri during that 9th inning bomb in game 1. While the angels almost took all 3 games, they are going to need to have that same type of attention to detail and doggedness to keep up with Oakland this season.
  7. To me, that Fuentes homerun he gave up to Arod in the 9th inning of Game 2 of the 2009 ALCS was really the beginning of the fall for the Angels pen. Since then, they've lacked fortitude, personality and more than ever, talent. For a half a decade now, its been the same old story.
  8. SS Eckstein DH Salmon RF Guerrero 3B Glaus CF Anderson LF Guillen 1B Erstad C Molina 2B kennedy ... Can't believe that was 10 years ago.
  9. these are some never say die teams here. unlike our beloved franchise
  10. they keep talking like they can do something, but without the requisite arms, we aren't going anywhere, especially with oakland and TX looking good for the next few years.
  11. The point of this thread is that this organization didn't have the pitching horses to get the team to the playoffs, and that trout did his thing and much more, obviously, which is why we all wanna see what he can do in the fall classic. You are pretty awesome too.
  12. Uh, he has had big hits two games in a row now while trout sits at home.
  13. Management, please do whatever is needed to get this team to the playoffs. I need to watch this man hit in the playoffs. It sickens me to watch and hear about how good Puig is, and how all these other young guys are so great. We have the best player in baseball. I don' wanna see him hit in that tense fall classic wearing another jersey.
  14. Texas and Oakland would start losing some games here and there. Winning 10 of the last 12 and still 8.5 back sucks, though we have made progress for the second WC spot. I still think we are gonna need to go on like a fat 12-15 game win streak at some point to get truly back in the thick of things.
  15. we've often stated texas is "playing over their heads" and that they will eventually wilt. yet it was our team taht wilted in that texas heat last year. we really need some big time winning streaks to get back in the game
  16. This is an easy part of the schedule but these guys are starting to play well, finally. That run differential is starting to close now, and it seems just a matter of time before we easily lead the division in runs scored. But Texas just keeps rolling, the lead seems almost insurmountable.
  17. so their starting staff, with an era of 1.2 better than ours, and in a hitters park - why cant we do that? other than sabathia, who on the yankees staff is that great? yet they just get it done.
  18. For the most part, analysts thought the yankees were going to finish last in a competitive AL East. Then everyone on their team got injured, their captain is out, their big boy hitters are out (granderson, texeira, arod), mariano is coming off a big injury, petite is old, yet once again they are back on top. Why can't we do that? We have had some injuries, our pitching is suspect (not that the yankees is amazing either), but we just can't get it done like they do. I swear, they just have a swag and attitude the gets them wins, coupled with their talent, they are always in the equation, while high priced teams like the angels and dodgers can't even shoulder the expectations like the skanks do.
